I'm trying to find out how I can send the preview audio, when browsing machine/kompletekontrol sounds, to a separate channel.
For live performances/jams it's rather annoying when a preview beat for a new machine kit messes up the song.
    Anyone?

Not possible to change the output channels for previews but you can send master out to out 3/4 maybe.

    It's possible.

2 Options, either you turn off previews during performances or if you own an MK3 or have an Audio Interface with more than 1 stereo Output set your CUE to be the separate output, like the headphone Output for the MK3 for example. Previews use the CUE channel not the "Audio" channel, they are set to the same output by default because that's the most common use case but you can change it.

You can also set your metronome to be on the second output (CUE / headphones) if you dont want the crowd hearing it.

This works fine with Maschine - but what about audio previews in Komplete Kontrol? There does not seem to be a CUE bus as in Maschine, and no other means to route the previews onto a different channel. This is a pity considering that both the stand alone version of KK as well as the VST have 32 channel output. NI, please allow to route the previews to a separate channel!

Yeah it's not possible in KK but funnily, if you dig up the older manual from KK v1.9 when the preview feature was first introduced it does mention there you can set it to play out a discrete output. I have a hunch tho that this section was a copy/paste from the Maschine manual as it has never been possible to set a second output for the preview as handy as that would be since I have a dedicated channel on my interface for preview/metronome signals from all software
