    Hi everyone,

It has come to our attention that the KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series MK1 controllers are no longer recognised in the latest Windows 10 update (update KB4487017). Our engineers have been looking into this issue and have concluded that the problem comes from recent changes that Microsoft have made in their OS. We have contacted Microsoft to let them know and we will update you as soon as we hear back from them.

For those who have been affected, please refer to this knowledge base article for more information:

    Thanks,

Windows 10 had some new updates two days ago, do they fix this problem?

I'm paused with updates but I can't stay to much in this condition.

OK, yup, the last updates for win 7 were the cause - uninstalled them and all ok.
    KB4486563
    KB4483458
    KB4480063
These are the latest up dates for 2019. Not sure if it was just one of them so did all three till proper solution is found.

When is this going to be properly patched? I rolled back on the updates and KK now works, but something has happened because its using 3x as much CPU and is overloading my system even on very basic projects

How can anyone know yet, Microsoft messed something up in the updates but NI have just become aware of it and clearly, there is more to investigate, it may be that uninstalling removed or changed something else. Did you reboot?

The cubase crash log said it was reaktor 6 which was causing the crashes every time. I don't even own reaktor 6 - turns out native access had downloaded and installed reaktor 6 player of it's own accord. Thinking back, I had the exact same issue last year. NI need to fu#k off pushing things ontl my system - why would I want reaktor 6 player, when I have the full version of 5. I don't get much time any more to write music and for the last couple of days all I've done is troubleshoot this crap. #rant

Why do you think it’s Miscrosoft’s fault?

It's not about 'fault' as in blame, but it is the Windows security updates caused this particular issue.

I uninstalled KB4487044, but KB4487017 was never installed on my Win 10 Pro 64-bit for some reason, despite I always keep it up to date.
After reboot Windows still doesn't recognise my S61 Mk1. My Machine Mikro Mk 2 seems to work, but it worked even before the rollback.
So, I'm not entirely sure the issue is only with those two updates.
Any good ideas on what else could be causing Win not to recognise my S61?
Right it just works as a standard midi-keyboard.

I didn't have any of those updates installed in my system, so I deleted the most recent one from the 14 of February and worked! Looking forward to a patch!

I really hope there will be a patch for this kind of behavior. I really like my komplete mk1 so far.

Ich hoffe es gibt bald einen Patch oder ein Update für die Sicherheitseinstellung in Windows. Dass das Problem behebt.

I had this problem with the komplete kontrol 2.1 update with S88 mk1 keyboard on windows 8.1 64 bit. I just uninstalled the Windows Security update KB4487000 update and everything is back to normal.

I really hope a fix is forthcoming, it's tiresome to repeatedly uninstall this update only to have it return like a bad virus after a few days. I've tried the only solution I know of for Windows 10 home (metered connection) to no avail. Digging through Windows settings to search for an obscure update code number, then waiting while Windows does it's whole updating-please-wait/restart routine is a real inspiration killer.

Have you checked to see if Windows Update installed it again? It was re-installed on my machine last night even after I disabled automatic downloading of updates (options are limited to this on Windows 10 Home). I had to uninstall it for the third time last night. I can only speculate that once it's been downloaded, Windows 10 Home version will still keep trying to install it even if further automatic downloads are disabled.

But either way, your'e right, this sucks. Am I seriously supposed to pay Microsoft 100 bucks more for a bunch of advanced networking features I don't need, simply to prevent their forced update system from breaking my hardware setup?
