Just a thread to show NI that there is some interest for the S88 Mk II at least here in the forums.
I'm also curious if there any of you who are actually holding off on getting the S49/S61 Mk II only because they are waiting for the S88 Mk II.

I have the 88 and now the 61 mk2. The keys are so different and I have gotten used to the 88 keys so I'm looking around trying to figure out how to mount both at my workstation but the 88 is just too big to fit with the 61. It's killing me to have to sell the 88 but I do like the 61 for what it does and for fast playing. But I will be sad to let the 88 go for sure and probably would eventually buy an 88 mk2 if they make it.

I have the KKS88 and I'm totally waiting for the MKII of the S88. I like having my keyswitches on the keyboard, and not having to octave up or down to get to them.

I don't think that'll ever happen, but sure, anyone can dream. :)

I was planning to buy the Mk1 S88 in December, but then the Mk2 series was announced so I will be waiting to the Mk2 S88. I'm currently using a Casio 88 key. There's no ways I'm going back to moving up and down octaves to reach some samples and keyswitches.

I'm waiting for the S88 MK2 as well.
I need a keybed with a quiet, smooth action, wide enough to assign many zones without having to transpose octaves constantly.
Hammer action is okay, as long as it allows you to play fast and the keys don't produce stupidly loud thump noises resonating through the case.
If NI stay with their harsh and noisy hammered Fatar keyboards, I'll consider buying a RD-2000 instead, even if it means ditching aftertouch.

I'd like to see the S88 MK2 be built as well. With the extra space it would be nice to see 8 extra knobs(with the mini screens) on the keyboard too in addiction to the 8 knobs and colour screen, so 16 knobs total.

I use a Korg NanoKey dedicated for keyswitches

That's an option should the 88 key not get released but I'm really hoping NI will just make my dreams come true, or else Korg will have to take some of my money.

It sure does not look like they are going to make a 88 key version. So sad, this is what I use live and need to have for most split keys. plus it would open up a space on my keyboard rack, since I would not need to see my computer screen. Sad.

That would be super cool, The only thing I would change would be the mod wheels. Joy sticks are much faster and more accurate to use. And one stick can control both pitch, modulation, and filter.

That's good except when you really need modwheel left at a certain position, and you hate to use touch strips. Both wheels and joysticks have their pros and cons.

Can't you assign that to a control knob?

C'mon NI -- Just give us a hint! I want to get an S88 and the new features on the MKII look awesome! But if I buy a MK1 S88 and then you release a MKII version soon after, I will be very disappointed.

It's different haptics, so no. For some people, wheel > knob :)
