Komplete kontrol S88 not mapping properly

I just got an S88 and and having this problem: when I install Komplete Kontrol, at first everything works fine. But after a few launches of the program, suddenly the mapping to the keyboard stops working: that is, the knobs all display generic "CC" parameters instead of the proper mappings, the arp/scale/performance buttons no longer light up, it's impossible to select presets using the controls on the right side. If I reninstall the software, it works again, but then the problem begins again after a few launches of Komplete Kontrol. Anyone else had this problem?

 

Anyone? I haven't been able to find a solution for this, other than re-installing the software every time I use it.

 

Sounds like something is broken with your USB setup. The device will only move into KK mode when the software find it via USB/MIDI -- otherwise it stays in generic MIDI controller mode. What OS are you on?

 

Mac OS. It's odd because it works fine the first few times after install, then stops working and stays in generic MIDI Mode.

 

That sounds very annoying!

First of all it would be good to post some more information:
1. Which OS are you using?
2. Have you updated the KK application, plugins and firmware and the Controller Editor to the latest versions?
3. Is it happening standalone and/or as a plugin?
4. If plugin, which DAW and version?
5. What other controllers are you using?

Then it would be good to check:
1. Examine closely and try to find out after which action it stops working. Or AT which action?
2. Did you simply try to restart your computer / and or the keyboard when it's happening?
3. Did you try to switch to KK-mode manually via Shift+Instance?
4. Depending on your OS, did you try to repair disk-permissions?

Maybe we can figure it out.

I just did another clean install of Komplete Kontrol. Opened up KK, turned on the S88, loaded up a patch on "the gentleman", everything worked fine, mappings were all there.

Then I quit KK, turned off the S88. When I turned it back on and re-opened KK, I'm back in MIDI mode. All the keys on the S88 are darkened.

If anyone from Native Instruments support is reading this, please help me out - your phone support lines are only open during the day when I'm at work so I can't get support any other way.
