    1. Currently, we can load only one instrument in an instance of Komplete Kontrol software, but we can load many instances of effects for that instrument.

It would be awesome to be able to load more "instruments" in a single instance of Komplete Kontrol for sound layering.

Is this planned for a future update? It would be such a useful feature in my opinion. I am assuming it has been requested before.

    2. There is no way to delete/remove an instrument once is it loaded. Can we please get an "empty/delete" option in the dropdown list so that we can clear anything that's loaded? I know, we could load something else instead, but it's good to have a remove/delete option. Again, this feature is available with effects but not with instruments, as with #1.

Please check the images below for better understanding.

I think both these features are essential.

Regarding #1, what advantages do you see for multiple instruments per KK instance compared with multiple KK instances (usually 'tracks') in a DAW, each with a different instrument loaded? The latter is a standard way to achieve sound layering, regardless of whether KK is involved.

The thing is with one instance of Komplete Kontrol, you filter based on various tags and load one instrument and then quickly filter again and load a second instrument, and so on. That way the process is a bit more convenient than creating separate tracks for layering and switch back and forth between instances. It would use less resources too, at least one less arrangement and mixer track.

I understand about layering without KK in general, but the idea here is to use the advantages offered by KK and make it more easier and faster to layer instruments in one instance thereby keeping things more manageable (less tracks) and easily replaceable (change instruments in a particular instance where you did layering).

I can think more, but hopefully this is a good-enough justification for my request.

IMO, it's underrating to not use multiple instruments in one instance of Komplete Kontrol.

In addition: a real support - inside Komplete Kontrol instance - for keyzones, dead keys, and light guide!
As I've asked couple of days ago (reply by Jester) -> keyzones with transpose, dead keys, and light guide customization, per nksf.
At the moment, this is handled by plugin itself (Kontakt of course, some 3rd-party plugins like Arturia only change the light guide colors but accross whole keyboard).

If Im understanding your question correctly, you can have one instance and have more than one instrument. It will be allocated to the next midi channel. There is a little x on the right side of the instruments header info where you can close that instrument if you want.

To chime in on this, I try to keep my total number of tracks in my DAW more manageable by bundling together different instrument instances of the SAME instrument (that need to have the same plugins on them) in one track, e.g. harp sustained, harp bisb, harp glass, or all articulations of the same string instrument (e.g. violins). This greatly simplifies my template and it's export for later scoring notation. It's a real impediment to using Komplete Kontrol (and benefit from S88 MkII control functionality) vs. using a multi-channel Kontakt instance (albeit missing the S88 MkII control functionality).

There is no x for me on the right side of Komplete Kontrol, so I cannot unload an instrument. If I try to use the ""+ to add anything further to the KK instance, all I can select are FX plugins, not instruments. See screenshot attached. Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't get KK to work in a multi-channel MIDI configuration.

Tonalexplorer, I agree. Once one instrument has been added via the KK software, only effects can can be added from then on.

I’ve only been using NI products since end of June so my knowledge is far from complete, but heres what my experience is so far.

Load an instance of KK in your DAW (There’s another way but this is the quickest)

Load in Kontakt and load in an instrument you want

Click on the arrow underneath undo >choose view > choose edit view , you will see all the Kontakt instruments which most NI products are.

Choose another Instrument and load it in - you wont see anything other than the first entry but notice the scroll bar on the right, scroll on it to reveal the second instrument you loaded. You can also click on the minus sign under the x to just have the instruments header visible, which toggles into a plus sign

I recommend carefully taking note of the icons at the top especially the two on the right. Also notice each time you load an instrument the midi channel increments.

    See screenshot below

NOTE: AFAIK this doesn’t work for standalone apps like Absynth, Reaktor, Battery4 etc, or their libraries. Also, AFAICR there were limits on functionality loading instruments in one instance rather than each DAW track having its own instance. Somewhere I saw KK takes very few resources even if you have a number of instances.

If you're aware of all this, well it might help someone new to it all.

Jojo123, thanks for the clarification. You’re talking about multiple instruments in Kontakt, which is definitely possible, rather than directly in KK. That can indeed be a useful technique. The disadvantage is that, as you suggest, it only works for Kontakt-compatible instruments, regardless of whether or not Kontakt is embedded in KK. Whereas, any instrument can be loaded directly into KK, even (though not with the knobs on the keyboard) one that is not NKS-compatible.

As already mentioned, it is not possible in Komplete Kontrol. Once an instrument is loaded, you can add multiple effects to it.

What I am requesting is to be able to load multiple instruments as well. With KK software you have far more "sounds" to layer than just Kontakt libraries.
