    Native Instruments Guys,

Komplete Kontrol software haven't been updated for at least half a year.
Unfortunately I can't reopen my existing half-a-year old ticket because previous support activities aren't accessible on your website.
    You don't answer to your customer's e-mails.

Would you please write on this forum, when will be a new version available, which repairs existing and previously reported bugs?

    Thanks!

    Hey PP!

    Thanks for reaching out.

Regarding support, you can still open a ticket on our website using our Komplete Kontrol form here: http://bit.ly/NIsupport_KKontrol
Our team is available if you have any issues you need to be resolved.
With that said, we wouldn't be able to say when a new version would be available. Maybe Adil @ NI can share more information?

    Hey Matt,

Thanks for your quick help and support, now I can access my previous activities.
Actually I wouldn't like to open a new ticket, I have opened it several months ago and it was closed with problem was forwarded to the developer team.

The solution would be a new version of Komplete Kontrol with a fix, so I am looking forward to Adil's answer.
Adil, would you please share any information?

    Hey Matt,

It's silence again from NI side. We are talking about errors which should be repaired frequently as other software companies do.
We buy your software because they are really great but if NI doesn't deal with their customers' problems, that isn't a good sign for us.

Would you please help me and get some answer directly from Adil and publish it here?
    Thank you in advance!

    I'll ping Adil now.
I think it would help him if you stated which bug we are talking about here.
    Thanks!

Please don't limit this conversation only to my problem.
In general, browsing through this topic I can see that a new KK software version would be nice, which would fix the issues reported until now.

Answering your question in specific, my issue is similar to this one :"If I load an instrument from the Komplete Kontrol Software Browser, the preset lights in the 'Navigation' Section of the keyboard no longer light up to show if there are any more presets either before or after the current one. The buttons still function, but the lights are off."

Thanks for your help in advance.

"The 'Bug' you point at there is not a bug, please read all the convo."

Please explain this clearly. Several people reported this issue, and it worked previously very well. There were a software update from your side, when it stopped working, so it couldn't be a kind of "feature".

But as I wrote previously, please don't limit this conversation to my issue only. Please read Jesper's post above.

You know that we do ... The Komplete Kontrol team is working on an update and Adil has already noted that in many other threads (especially in relation to Logic issues). I've messaged him to see if he can share more information on the scope of the update at this stage.

Goon, what kind of customer support is this? If you really are a product owner, you should know what about agile, what is the bottom line of it: the customer! So if you can explain it, please do it here.

Goon is a user just like yourself (product owner as in he owns some of our products).

So then I am a product owner too and everybody is who have bought NI’s products... Well, it seems that it will take a lot of time to get answers from NI. I don’t think that this would be the good way to deal with customers and their problems.

I have been using NI's products approximately for 14 years, but I am new to this forum, because I haven't posted anything before, just read its topics occasionally. Forums are great opportunities for enterprises to be closed to their customers, help and support them and collect feedback directly from them. This way you could develop your products on a way to get more satisfied customers.

Satisfied customers means more incomes, that would be the key of the business success.

Its called stating facts, take the time to read the thread you linked too, you would see it was not a bug, its how it is supposed to work.

Maybe try actually posting your issue.

This is not a fact, I read that thread again. It is what a user thinks about how it works:
"The buttons only light up when you are preset browse mode (When the OSD is on-screen). Once you have a preset loaded the buttons do not light up to indicate preset navigation because remember, you can use it in a DAW to navigate tracks."

If you switch Hardware / Navigate / Browse Mode to Hardware, then you wouldn't like to use your DAW to navigate through the presets. You want to use only your keyboard. This keyboard uses lights to show you which buttons you can use in the current situation. If you can navigate up and down, the both preset buttons should be light. If you reached the start or the end of that list, only one of them should light. That's all, so simple. And if I remember well, it worked previously this way.

Matt, would you please confirm, which operation was planned by your product owners?

Adil will jump on this thread as soon as he can and share more information about this thread / what he can communicate about the next Komplete Kontrol update.

I spent a long time testing all the parameters and wrote a detailed bug report about the various issues with the button lights. This was over a year ago. The response from NI support at the time was (and this is a direct quote) "We have seen other reports of this, and are currently looking into a fix." Seems it got lost in the system, because it's still not fixed and it's not even listed under "known issues" in the current beta notes.

Forum post with all the details:
    https://www.native-instruments.com/...eyboard-buttons-are-not-lit-correctly.359017/

Bug report that was marked "Answered" even though it never got fixed (maybe that's why no one's working on it?):
    https://support.native-instruments....2.2020739000.1595204407-1251310743.1587636396

This is not a major issue, so I haven't felt compelled to keep following up on it. The lighting issues are a bit annoying, but the real concern from my PoV is what it says about NI as a company. Leaving aside the obvious problems with developer/QA/managerial competence that allowed NI to release an update that introduced so many different bugs, the fact that it was never fixed says "we don't care if our products work properly, because we already have your money". Well…that's true, but if you want people to keep giving you money, it's probably not wise.

    Hi all,

Thanks for the posts, and thanks Matt @ NI for bringing this to my attention. I will prepare a more detailed post explaining what we have been working on, and what can be expected in the near future. As stated in some other threads, KOMPLETE KONTROL 2.4.0 will be with us soon and addresses some longstanding and recently introduced critical bugs.

In the meantime, have a good weekend!

    Best,
    Adil
