Komplete Ultimate 11 Install "Size on Disk" vs "Size"?

I've got most of the libraries for Komplete Ultimate 11 installed (I couldn't fit all of them on my hard drive), and it takes up 461 GB "Size on Disk" according to Windows 10, but says the "Size" is only 307 GB?

I know that this effectively means that the total amount of space it's truly taking up on my hard drive IS the larger number ("Size on Disk"), but if the actual file sizes are only 307 GB, why is the Size On Disk so much bigger (about 50% larger!)?

Is this normal? Or do I have the wrong formatting on my hard drive or something?

It's a 512 Gb (476 GB) SSD formatted in exFAT with 512 Bytes/Sector cluster size setting. I'm not sure about this kind of thing, but maybe either exFAT is the wrong formatting? I don't think it's possible to change the sector size, is it? So is this pretty much just the way it's going to be?

ExFAT is not a good idea, especially for an SSD.
