When I load "Austere" or some of the other FX snaps into Vokator, the program gives the message "error could not find the file ... " in the sampler window. Then, when I play the sound, it comes out dorky sounding because there's no sample loaded. Is this only a problem with the Komplete2 package version of Vokator, or does the regular Vokator program have this problem too?

Anyone want to verify this bug?

In the bottom half of the main Vokator screen, in the lower right hand corner, you should see the word OPTIONS. Click on this and you will be able to set the directory paths for Presets, Morphs Snapshots, Samples and Tapedeck. Just make sure to set the path to where the Vokator sample are located. This should help. But since I bought Vokator separate from Komplete 2 I'm not sure if the samples are indeed included. Hope this helps.

I can confirm that I lost 100 mb of samples when installing NI komplete. I copied the library folder from the Vokator disc, and now things work well. Can NI please confirm this problem?

    Komplete 2 - Same Results ;-| ?

    Hello Lokus,Skeptiktank and tsumo,

How are you ? Fine I hope. ;-)

I just got through booting up Vokator and going at it for the first time today.

    Pretty interesting. ;-|

But, with the same results as you all. ;-(

A lot of the samples were missing with error messages with the included presets that were installed with Komplete 2 Bundle for Vokator . ;-(

    God Bless.

    One Love.

re: samples missing in Vokator/NI Komplete 2

    This is really too bad.

I'd heard a lot of negative press about Native Instruments but heard a few REALLY glowing things about Reaktor 4, so I bought it. It's about the most amazing and simultaneously unusable program I've ever had, considering I don't have a degree in physics.

Then NI Komplete 2 came along and I decided to download some demos to see if I'd really use these programs. Vokator was the one that struck me as having the longest shelf life, and so I took the plunge.

Like you all, I have had the same error messages come up. Is there a way around this for those of us who don't have the original Vokator program? Is NI planning on putting out a patch for this? 100 megs of samples is a pretty major oversight IMHO.

    Cheers,

    -ix

    Hello,

it has come to our attention that some of the Vokator presets will not load correctly caused by missing files in the Vokator sample folder. We apologize for this.

We will further investigate this. As soon as possible we will provide a solution for this, probably on the Komplete 2 updates page.

Thanks to NI on this!!! (I have another problem now...)

It's great that NI has owned up to this oversight. Hey, we're all human, right? I'd rather they responded in the way they did than try to cover this up.

Now I have another question that seems to apply to *all* NI products. I've seen this behavior before in Reaktor, Kontakt and now Vokator, and I believe this is either a problem with NI or M-Audio who make my midi controller and interface.

Every time I tell a NI program that my Oxygen 8 is "on," if I close the program and come back in after removing the Oxygen 8 from my system (remember it's MIDI over USB), I can't hear anything when I'm tapping out midi notes on one of my other controllers (I also have a Midisport 4x4 from M-Audio). I go into the audio setup, everything looks fine, and then I click "OK." When I get back to the program, I can see the audio in the master volume meter, but I can't hear anything. I go back to audio properties and it won't let me select Analog out 1/2 as my default outs, they're gone!! All I have left is 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 analog and all the digital outs (I have a Layla but I know that's not the problem here).

My question is this: Since it happens across many NI products, it seems as if it may be a problem with the way these programs check active MIDI ports on program boot. Reason doesn't do this, it tells me that "a midi controller used in the last session couldn't be found" or something like that. I wish NI programs would do that too.

Does anyone else have an Oxygen8? If so, does this happen to you too? I just want to pinpoint the problem so the appropriate people can fix it. It may be an issue with two M-Audio devices on the same system, but I'd think other soft synths (like Reason) would behave the same way if it was that.

    Thanks in advance!!

    Cheers,

    -m
