i use kontakt 1.2 with directixer 2.3 and
    sonar 2.2
all work fine, but, when i try to open kontakt panel, konakt reload all samples loaded previously.
    Why ?

This is a bug of kontakt, sonar or directixer?

    Any solution for no reload?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my english

I am using exactly the same combination of software,
and I don't understand what problem you are talking
about. What do you mean by "open Kontakt panel"?

try to explain (sorry for my english)

    I have kontak 1.2 (no DFD active),directixer 2.3
    and sonar 2.2

    Open sonar
    open dxi kontakt (with directixer)
    load a sample program,piano of kontak cd's.
    close kontakt dxi(the dxi module)
play the piano and record midi, all ok.
try to edit piano sound, and open kontakt again...
well, kontak reload the samples of piano again...
    this is normal?
    Why?

each time when open kontak, without change anything,
kontak reload all samples loaded previously

    (sorry for my english)

I'm still confused about what you're talking
about. For one thing, you say you're using
DirectXer, and at the same time you say you're
using Kontakt DXi. If you're using the DXi
interface, you're not using DirecXer. If you're
using DirecXer with Kontakt, you're using Kontakt
    VST.

Regardless, if I create a Kontakt instance in
a Sonar session, I can play it, process it, and
(so long as I don't enable DFD!) "bounce" it to
an audio track. If I close the Kontakt DXI2 window,
then double-click on Kontact in the track effects
field, the window re-opens, but there is no re-loading
of any samples. Now, if I actually *terminate*
the instance of Kontakt, that's going to free up
all the sample memory, etc, so I of course need
to reload the sample if I create a new Kontakt
instance. I think you are confusing closing
windows with shutting down plug-ins altogether!

mcanicos - You should not be using Directixer to load Kontakt. Kontakt works very well with SONAR 2.2. You don't need to do that. My Kontakt and SONAR 2.2 have no problems. You should make sure that you have installed the DXi version and remove it from Directixer. I bet that Directixer is causing the problem.

    Good luck!

I don't have DirectiXer, but I do have the
Cakewalk VST adapter. I've experimented with
using both Kontakt 1.2 and Reaktor 4.0.1 as
both DXi and VST plugins, and they both work
OK either way. There were reports of people
having problems with earlier versions of Kontakt's
DXi support, so I can understand someone wanting
to use a VST wrapper instead. But it doesn't
seem to be necessary, at least on my Windows
    machine.

    THE PROBLEM IS DIRECTIXER

I have checked the kontakt with directixer 2.3 and
    Fx expansion vst adapter 4.3

With directixer 2.3 when open kontakt reloading samples.
With Fx expansion 4.3 WORKS FINE!!!!

Dxi2 of Kontakt 1.2 ,works fine? or better VST with Adapter?

    Re: THE PROBLEM IS DIRECTIXER

If you search NI forums or Google, you will find some
reports of people having some problems (for example,
excessive CPU consumption) with Kontakt as a DXi, and
who recommend using a VST wrapper. I haven't yet done
anything really difficult with Kontakt in Sonar, but
in my experiments, I've alternated between using Kontakt
as a DXi and as a VST, using the FX expansion adapter
from Cakewalk, and I've observed no differences so far.

I couldn't get Kontakt to work with a VST Wrapper in SONAR. I still don't understand why someone would use a wrapper at this point..I don't see much difference in CPU usage between SONAR and Cubase SX, personally.
