KONTAKT 1.2 update now available !

Hallo,

finally we can provide you with the KONTAKT update 1.2 and the DFD extension, allowing KONTAKT to stream audio files directly from hard disk. There are also some other features that will add to the power of KONTAKT. I would like to apologize for the delay of this release. Problems turned up nobody did expect.

I would like to thank our external beta testers, who did a great job of making KONTAKT a stable piece of software. Furthermore am I grateful for the people, that put in a few words for us. Thanks, it really helped to get the job done!

Is there a way to have my password emailed to me? It's not letting me log in.

 

i found a registration page when i couldn't remember my password and it emailed it to me.

thanks NI! i can't wait to try out this stuff - for me the best part is that the main fader/pan can now be controlled within DP3. i'm excited about that.

now i hope that by the time DP3 is OSX ready that NI will have kontakt, battery and B4 ready too.. that's my thing, much more important to me than DFD.

anyway, we'll see how many of the whiners actually post a thanks to NI for this!

Go to the home page and click on a Register link on the far left - there is a little area that asks you to email your registration e-mail to NI and they'll send you your pass.

Unfortunately, I don't have my Kontakt CD on me, so I'll have to wait for later to try out the features - but thanks for all of NI's hard work.

 

Did the above, and have no trouble logging into my account. But when I click on the download, I get another Username/Password prompt which doesn't accept the loggin I use here.

it figures, though... the update finally comes out and i'm out of town for the weekend. no playing for me

I must say I'm impressed with NI for putting up with so much bullshit and still having the determination to deliver what they promised, without too much of a delay. I've never seen so much unjustified criticism for such a high-quality product, and I'm glad that this hasn't affected the developers more than it did.

Unfortunately, they didn't fix the Akai import bug.

Known issues

Missing VST automation, but MIDI CCs are available
Changing view size causes graphic distortion
Some CD-Roms might cause problems importing AKAI

 

The AKAI bug must be a CD-Rom thing, not so much Kontakt - I've yet to have a problem with a legit AKAI CD - and I'm surprised, because both my DVD and CD-R don't work anywhere near as well with XP as with 98. XP is really bitchy when it comes to CD-Roms.

 

Thank you for the update. I've been putting it to some testing with various instruments and some largish HALion programs that I have, and so far has performed flawlessly. I like how seemlessly you integrated the DFD function. I can just set it and forget it's even there.

 

every app that reads akai on my system(s) does read akai except Kontakt, couple that with the release notes.

I think you will find it is a Kontakt problem.

 

AKAI problem sill there for me too

and yes IT IS kontakt and battery that ONLY do it for me , it is an NI problem with certain drives

The 1.2 feature list is mouth-watering! Can't wait to play around with the round-robin randomness, DFD, DXi2, release trigger, and key activator.

Anyone know why DFD is a separate download/extension? I have a guess why, but I'd rather not.

v1.2 akai now works on my sytem

Aloha from Honolulu,
Prosamples Vol 38 Trance Akai import files worked in version 1.0 of Kontakt. Then in updates 1.0.1, 1.0.2 and 1.1.1 the same Akai import cd would not work from vol 38 of Prosamples Trance.

Finally version 1.2 update of Kontakt works again!!

I am using a PC P4 system utilizing the Sony 12x/8x/32x CD/RW IDE
internal drive. Same Sony CD/RW used with all versions.

hi. great news with the update. now, to buy this software I must be confident that I can now move away from the Gigastudio platform. There's just too much grief there...

Are all the important Gigastudio functions incorporated into kontakt now? Will I be able to use Garritan strings keyswitched and legato instruments? Can I use Maestro Tools for legato and performance play?
