    Hello,

    i'm Olivier from Belfort-musique.

For my next sampled Piano, i will sample a beautiful grand Piano
    in .nki format only.

A friend of me have tested the Steinway B from easwest in Gigastudio.
I have modified this instrument. And in Kontakt it sound very beautifull and the diskstreming works very well !
(much better than the bad Halion)

    Good job !

you can download my old sampled Piano (Schimmel) at :

    www.belfort-musique.com/realprosounds.html

My next Piano will be a old grand Bechstein or a very beautifull Kawai.

With new Kontakt, we will have in the next days some very good sampled Piano.

    Regards,

    Olivier

    Nice for a change!

It's good to hear some positive reviews!

I'm downloading your Piano now - I'll try it out.

    Merci!

I just downloaded this piano. It imports fine and sounds pretty nice, but I hear some weird subtle "phasey" artifacts on low notes that don't appear to be in the original waveform. Does this have something to do with that whole giga/keyswitching thing, or is it something else? Has anyone else noticed the problem?

I would *really* like to download this piano but I'm on a Mac so can't do anything with .exe files.

Could it be uploaded in a different format? Zip? Sit? Could anyone who has fully uncompressed the file send it to me somehow?

I am also the moderator of kontakt.daw-mac.com and would love to be able to post it there, if given permission.

The EXE file is just a self-extracting RAR file. I opened the archive with WinRAR, without invoking the EXE at all (it's really just a multipart RAR).

I bet you can open it with a Mac RAR program.

    No go on a Mac

Unfortunately it won't open on a Mac. I downloaded all the .rar files, and two different Mac RAR programs. Neither of them knew what to do with the .exe, although once I had identified all the other segments, it could show me what was in the archive. But no way to decompress it.

Can some PC user help? It looks like the full size .gig is a little over 200MB. Anyone who can successfully get to the .gig, maybe try zipping or stuffing it to a more reasonable size? Perhaps it could be transferred via AOL IM (which works even for non-AOL users) if we are both online at the same time.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

Therre will be always something some computer users invent to be incompatible at any price. This applies IMO for any computer system :-|

By the way, great link (http://kontakt.daw-mac.com/), thank you.

    upload ok !

and i have had a good patch for the Steinway B from eastwaest :

    http://www.belfort-musique.com/EW_Steinway B_4.0_for_Kontakt.nki

    1) import your Steinway B into Kontakt
    2) rename your sample directory "EW_Steinway B_4.0_for_Kontakt"
    3) copy my .nki file in the same directory

And you have a Steinway B with 8 velocity and good filters in Kontakt

    Regards,

    Olivier
