Kontakt 2.2 Authorization workaround

    I tried your workaround. I have checked every file on every drive I have and I can't find a file named Kontakt 2.plist. I have the software on my C:\ drive and the audio files on another drive.

    How are we going to know when you have come up with a fix for this. Are you going to e-mail everyone?

    I'm not loading any of the other updates for fear that nothing is going to work.

    I'm very frustrated.

    Hi Markus,

    1. On PC: For Test purposes I deleted the two Kontakt2 entries in the registry. After the Kontakt2.2 update they have been rewritten but without SNO and SYSTEMID. Then Kontakt showed up in ‘Demo Mode’ in the root directory. Within the offline activation of NI service center it was asking for a serial number. I was not sure which SNO to put there so I canceled the offline activation.
    2. After that I put back the SNO and SYSTEMID time into the registry which I send to you last and did the online activation and guess what Kontakt2.2 was activated in the root directory and not under K3 or K4 entry!!! Now it works. Congratulations.
    3. Installed Reaktor5.1.2 update and it activated flawlessly online.
    4. On Notebook: Installed Reaktor5.1.2 update (Kontakt2.2 was activated without problems before. Tried to start NI service center but it failed with the error that the macromedia flashplayer is not installed. Originally it was installed in D:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\ directory version 9.0.28 but the online installation left only 3 files (NPSWF32.dll, FlashUtil9b.exe, Flash9b.ocx). It worked before but now it doesn’t. How can I get NI service center up and running with the macromedia flashplayer respectively what is the problem now?

    Hi all,

    I have to catch up on your latest posts.

    we have now fixed two different problems that caused Komplete 4 updates to fail with the Kontakt 2.2 install or even ask you to buy a serial number by mistake.

    we also have cleaned up all activation accounts that were changed because of the problems above.

    please try again to activate and let me know. I got positive repsonses from some of the volunteers below!

    if it still does not work, give me a couple of key words like Mac/PPC/Mactel, stand-alone Kontakt or update path, and anything you observed during the activation process.

    Not working, (reaktor 5.1.2, kontakt 2.2) tried to activate again.

    Service center, tells me the auth is a success, but in auth overview, its still not authorized.

    Tried reinstalls, plist trashing etc.

    One thing, which serial number do you want us to use?
    The komplete 4 serial, or the individual serials listed in product info (in sc)?

    Ive tried both though and none works, but just wondering..

    System: Macintel,
    From komplete 3 to 4.

    Still no Kontakt/Battery/[or EPno]
    MacPro
    -Deleted plists in root and user folders
    -Installed Kontakt from K4 DVD. Then applied the latest UB version
    -Ran service center...says activation a success...but the above mentioned still remain "Not Activated" under the Komplete4 heading.
    Tried opening standalone and still in Demo mode

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I spoke too soon before, Kymeia; my laptop Kontakt 2.2 and Reaktor 5.12 did not show activated the next time I ran SC. I tried your fix and Henning's to no avail. Finally, since this was a new reiinstall on my laptop anyway, I went all the way back and installed as I first had on that machine--K3 custom, then K4 full, and simply didn't install those two updates. Going to finish the install and Ghost it this time before I try again. Just in case, although I hope you are right, Markus, and the problem is fixed for all.

    Mac Pro OS 10.4.8

    Before I spoke to Registration support in Los Angeles, everything was authorized ecxept for EletrikPno, Kontakt, and Reaktor. Victor worked with me over the phone for a while and after doing something.....[which I can't remember] Komplete 4 then said that I need a new license. For whatever reason this was progress. I sent my Activation Request FIle to Victor...and at that point he said he had done all that he could do and that we were going to have to wait on some Service Center Tweaks via Berlin


    As per Victor's instructions in preparation for the Service Center fix I did the Following:


    I deleted all things Komplete 4 including Plists, Applications....everything.
    Repaired Permissions.
    REbooted computer.
    Did a fresh install of K4. Victor told me NOT TO APPLY ANY OF THE UB UPDATES UNTIL I GET EVERYTHING AUTHORIZED
    Then I ran the Service Center * 1AM EST [THursday morning].
    I am still getting the "An error occured during activation"
    Then Komplete 4 says: "You have to buy a new license"
    So essentially we are still nowhere
    FYI: NI Spektral Delay, Pro53 and Vokator did authorize under K4.
    Today is the day. I need Kontakt ASAP... pretty pretty please????

    Not working, (reaktor 5.1.2, kontakt 2.2)

    I have attempted to re-install and I am currently trying to restore my entire Hard Drive from a week and a half ago, in an attempt to get some work done. :-(

    G5 2x2 / OSX.4.8 / K3->K4 upgrade. (KompleteCare2006)

    Nice to know you guys are onto it though Markus.

    Note: Once going through the process at the head of this thread, several other authorizations went pear shaped... So hopefully once my restoration is finished I'll be able to continue. Fingers crossed!!

    I have Kontakt 2.2 standalone installed along with the new Service Center (SC). The Service Center won't get past the screen that says "Error: for a correct execution of the Service Center Application, please install Macromedia Flash 8.0.22.0 or higher..." I have Flash 9.0.28.0 installed, so SC should work... but it doesn't. I took my system registration out of your reg system because I was re-installing Kontakt 2 due to a HD crash and would show up as a new computer. So I can't go back to any previous key codes and the old HD is trash, so I can't go back to it.

    How do I make SC run so I can get my Kontakt registered again? I've sent two support requests in on this already and heard nothing back but the auto-responses that gave me the Tracking numbers: RS 140753 & RS 140753.

    Help! I'm in the middle of a production and need to get my Kontakt back running.

    I'm having problems still where it tells me to buy a new license. Kontakt 2.2 is fine (as is the latest Reaktor 5) as I installed it pre K4. But K4 content (Absynth4, Akoustik Piano, FM8) refuses to activate. It looks somewhat similar, but I'm not 100% sure it is the same problem. I've contacted tech support (issue 88186), hopefully they'll work this one out soon.

    I just installed out of curiousity the NI SC. and updated to K2.2; I used the offline procedure...

    I did not have any troubles * all, this was the first time that an update went as a warm knife through butter.

    Just wanted to say that :)

    Geir, your problem was that there were duplicate entries in your activation account - it should work now. probably caused by an earlier error on the server side (see below).

    who else falls in the same category where SC first shows activation and then not any more when you restart it?

    Pooh, Service Center does install Flash - you might want to download the latest DC installer from our website if you do not want to run the whole update installer again. it is under support, other downloads unprotected updates.

    Yay, after they did some stuff to my account on the server I am now fixed. Can't wait to get home and play with Absynth 4 and Akoustik Piano.

    Same here for me. First time I start it up the Online Activation Assistant pops up and shows Komplete 4. I cannot expand this selection. It also says "Activated" which is pretty interesting when 3 of the products is not activated. :)

    I click Next, and it shows me my serial number for Komplete 4 for Guitar Rig 2, Kontakt 2 and Reaktor 5. I click Next again, and it says "Product Activation successful", but if I then expand the Komplete 4 folder it shows NOT ACTIVATED for Guitar Rig 2, Kontakt 2 and Reaktor 5.

    What's interesting I think is though that if I click Next, then Main Menu, and then start Online Activation Assistant, expand the Komplete 4 group, check Guitar Rig 2, Kontakt 2 and Reaktor 5, click Next, then 3 totally random serial numbers are shown for each product! Maybe this is something for you guys to follow up on? If I again click Next with these 3 random serials it still says Product activation successful, but if I expand the Komplete 4 folder it still says NOT SUCCESSFUL next to each product.

    This is the deal!

    I tried to authorize the stuff again without success.
    Tried reinstall trashing prefs, everything mentioned here.

    Then I remembered that with guitar rig2.2, (and other stuff from earlier on)
    Ive had problems with authorizing NI software thats put in a sub folder.

    For instance I like to put every NI software in a sub folder within the aplications folder on my mac.


    So,

    I deleted all the prefs for: kontakt, reaktor, AND service center (type servicecenter in one word within spotlight to find them)

    Then, log out (restart is not neccessary)

    Move reaktor, kontakt AND service center to the applications folder

    Start reaktor run demo mode. Quit reaktor (dont start sc yet)

    Start kontakt, run demo mode and quit

    Then start service center. Type the serials found in the product info dialog, (not the komplete4 sn)

    And voila!!

    It worked for me, after at least 10 hours of trying all the stuff here.

    (So Marius, could it be that service center wont recognise software stored other places than directly in the applications folder??

    This has happened with NI software before... Just a tought)

    I'm having issues activiating Guitar Rig & Kontakt.

    So I tried the above workaround - removing prefs, activating in demo mode, then running service center

    I gave the individual serial for Kontakt and Komplete 4 (as I don't have Guitar Rig standalone)

    Neither Kontakt or Guitar rig activated (despite positive response for Kontakt), and now all my Komplete products are listed under Guitar Rig - all still work with the exception of Guitar Rig & Kontakt

    please help - this is getting crazy

    Update - typed in my Komplete Care auth for guitar rig, which said was already registered, however this at least did move the other products back under Komplete 4 - Kontakt is showing as standalone and activated, of course running the product is coming back saying it's not activated - argghhh

    Intel Mac - all apps installed under 'applications'
