    Hey guys,

Running Kontakt 2.2.1 and haven't really had the need to run it in standalone. I've been using it in Logic with no problems. However, I just got EWQL WordBuilder and Symphonic Choirs and I want to mess around with it. Seems like running in standalone is the best place to start. Problem is, starting up Kontakt 2 in standalone just opens it up. The GUI is completely missing. I can set my MIDI/Audio preferences, but nothing else. The interface is nowhere to be found. Any ideas?

    Update

I decided to just go ahead and update to 2.2.4. Still nothing. What happens now is after it is done installing it asks if I'd like to locate my library. When I click "Yes," it sits on the launch window telling me it is "Initializing User Interface." It's been "initializing" for the last 30 minutes. Choosing "No" just brings me back to square 1. Any ideas?

    For the record:
    Apple G5 (Dual 1.8) - PPC
    Mac OSX 10.4.10

    Kontakt works great in Logic.

I am having the exact same problem with both kontakt 2.2.4 and kontakt 3.01. No GUI in standalone. It was working fine until I upgraded to the latest version of tiger.

    Apple G5 dual 2.7 8 gigs ram
    osx 10.4.11

Well, at least I'm not alone, for whatever that is worth.

I was able to get the gui in standalone for Kontakt 3 to appear once I trashed the preference files for kontakt 3 in the User Library. The ones I found were:

    com.native-instruments.Kontakt 3.plist
    com.native-instruments.Kontakt3.plist

Trashing these fixed the Gui problem. HOWEVER, trashing the preference file for kontakt 3 in the main library did not work and in fact created activation problems. I returned the original to it place in the main library and everything was fine.

I trashed the Kontakt 2 I found in the user file. That did not seem to work. I will keep trying.

Be sure you make copies of prefs you trash, or move the trashed pref files to a safe place.

    Ok, solved.

There is a preference file called Kontakt2.plist in your USER library/preferences folder.

Trash it and everything should be fine.

I've tried trashing all the preferences related to Kontakt 2 and I still can't get it to show up. GUI is still invisible. I don't have K3 yet.

    instantpop,

I apologize if you already know this, but there are two places you can find preferences. One is in the Computer's library. The other is in your User library. The only one you should trash is the Kontakt2.plist file in your USER library's preferences folder. Put any from the Computer library back in the preferences folder.

If this is confusing to you, please let me know.

It worked for me, both with K2 and K3.

    Hey Richard,

Thanks. That may be my problem. I trashed and deleted everything last time. I will try just deleting the USER preference and reinstalling again to see if that helps!

You rock, Richard! I deleted just the USER preference, reinstalled and am now getting the GUI in standalone. Awesome.

    Thanks!
