I've heard that NI is working on Kontakt 2. Any idea what kind of improvements or addition will be added? I hope they fix all the bugs in Kontakt 1 as well.

    Just asking

I've heard something about that too ! It's meant to be out no later than 2010 and almost all the current bugs will be fixed. But not only that, NI have promised that at least 75 % of promises and claims made about version 2 will actually be included in the build !

Sounds too good to be true to me.

I bet they'll just abandon Kontakt 1.2 with bugs and all and force everyone to upgrade for a half-assed bug-fix in 2.0!

That will be the time to switch to a different Soft Sampler.

i spoke to a NI member at the musikmesse frankfurt

i told him that the timestretch feature in kontakt is useless for me because of the bad quality

then he said (quietly) that they are working on a better implementation of it

maybe its included in kontakt 2 ??

Well, if they really make a better timestretching algorithm I hope they also leave the option to use the now current one.... I just LOoVE the gritty artifacty results from it! (Especially when "high quality" mode is turned off...)

Oh my god, if they ever decide to change the timsestretch function, i'll have to find a new way to create fat breaks. Teemu, you've scared me by bringing this up :)
