Kontakt 3 Activationproblem

    I've got a problem with the activation of my copy of Kontakt 3.

    Is this a known problem?
    I mean, when I'm asked to fill in my serial nummer of Kontakt- the first version- I see four fields.
    My serial number however has only three fields. So I tried to ignore the fourth field - let it blank- but, you know...

    If it is a specific problem: after installing Kontakt 2 I uninstalled the earlier version?
    Why use the old stuff if you got the new one?
    But maybe this was a mistake...

    When this is this case, should I uninstall Kontakt 2 and 3, which already cost me hours and hours on my dedicated audio-pc, and then reinstall all in the right order?

    I remember how tedious the installation of Kontakt 2 was, having this dedicated audio-pc without any internetconnection.

    Any advise would be very wellcome, as the boys from NI seem to have problems doing anything else then sending autoreplies

    Man, I would not uninstall any Kontakt version that was working. You may still need those for previous work in your daw. The newer Kontakt may read the older kontakt files, but I know Logic has to have the original inst. i.e. kontakt 1 and 2 to recall them. Problem is probably with the service center. I was using spectral delay which was activated and working smoothy then updated to latest version 1.6 which requires a new serial that was promptly sent. One problem it has the usual 5 box fields. Service center only has 3 available for this version of spektral delay on it's product detail page. There is also a peculiar red line going only around the spectral delay box. So now I can't activate my new version. Seems like the service center is a touch buggy.
    It also won't let me activate my Komplete 5. Says serial # won't export.Whatever the #*ck that means. Waiting for NI to respond.
    Blown my one day a week off on this crap. No music today.

    You enter your K3 serial number. There isn't any reason for you to be prompted for an earlier version's serial number...

    Yes, and I thought, because Kontakt - the first one- has three, that this was causing my problem:because it was asking the serial number of Kontakt, not of Kontakt 3.
    Besides, whatever serialnr I filled in, - I have tried them all , also that of K3 of course-according to the Service Centre they were all wrong, and now I have got my activation with serial numbers that are wrong according to the centre, although my numbers were right, which was confirmed by the support centre.
    So, you were right, but I had no idea.
    Now , after using the new version of Service Centre, and things have finaly worked out, I know there must have been something very wrong in the Service Centre-app that comes with the installation DVD!
    After a week of autoreplies they sent me a new file for installing Service Centre, but this didn't work right away, I think because the new installation did not automatically overwrite the first one. I think this is odd...
    So only after removing the first Service Centre, and then installing the new one, and then etc taking the steps as advised things finally worked out, and Kontakt 3 could be activated.
    It seems to me, as I said before (I think] the people of NI know since quite a time that the old version of Service Centre is causing a lot of problems.
    So why don't they send that solution, the download of the updated Ervice Centre- and the advise to uninstall the old version first- right away instead of waiting for a week?

    And this is not about dongles or iLocks , this is about paranoia and professionalism.
    I was quite desperate as a saxophoneteacher with a minor studio about being able to solve this problem as I read how professional people with huge studio's reported their problems with NI.
