    Hi,

I'm really having trouble getting the Kontakt 3 Demo to work. I'm trying to install and when it loads it says gives me two messages saying:

The DFD extension currently installed does not match your program version. Please get a DFD extension v1.5 or upgrade your product!

I have tried trashing all preferences from:
/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments (I actually even deleted the whole folder and re-installed)

    /Users/{username}/Library/Preferences (both com.nativeblah blah)

    Still no luck.

I'm running leopard 10.5.1 and its a new mac pro.

I have also tried installing the service center, and (having installed the flash 9 package first) it installs fine, but it crashes on open. Brand new mac pro, nothing else installed from Native instruments inside.

In addition i tried the leopard installer patch just in case... still nothing

I get the same error message. Formatting is not an option...

    Anyone have any ideas?

Ok, i have created a new account and gave it all the right permissions, and there is no problem (except a lot of clicking in the audio) as far as kontakt 3 goes, BUT how can i make my other account see those two dfd and irc files?

Is it just corrupt and should accept that fact? Or is there a way to make this work?

    Hello Paps4,
we have rarely seen those issues where a admin user of an OS X was not allowed to install files or execute an application without apparent reason. I would try the usual OS X general fixing methods like repairing Volume permissions of your OS X volume, starting the Mac in safe mode once (as this performs a file system check) and re-running the latest Mac OS combo update.

    Best,

    Stephan

Probably it is caused by your selection of the language setting of your Operating System.

Please go to you OS X preferences pane for "International", under the tab "Language" drag "English" to the first position of the list of languages. Then restart the computer.

From now on Kontakt should be able to start without giving this alert.
