hmmmmm maybe they have changed it, cause now they are asking for proof of purchase... before they use to use your registration date.
If I were you I would call and plea. Beg if necessary :)

It would be great if they did use the registration date but they are asking for proof of purchase and it says 8/30/07 on my receipt....
    Man, 2 days...

I wasn't as close as you, as I registered my copy on August 14th.
I'm not complaining (much) but if I'd known a new version's release was this close I'd certainly have held off buying until September.

A little note on the Kontakt 2 product information page would have been helpful. For example, Adobe has announced that a new version of Audition is due in November.
Plenty of lead time to let customers - and potential customers - know.

Don't get your hopes up. I've been requesting this for years - it's the main reason I've stopped purchasing Kontakt upgrades - and I've only been met with silence or ridicule =P

In a way I feel like I should qualify for the free upgrade for both Kontakt and GUitar Rig.
Although I did order both products on Aug 30, but it was out of stock(Sweetwater) and I had to wait until 9/10 to receive it.
In reality, I didn't receive it until then and didn't have a chance to install it until 9/13.
I feel that using the registration date is more fair.

    Too overwhelming?

    Hey Thomas,

Besides some comments, criticisms and speculation, there have really only been a few questions asked. But, I don't see any of your answers. Surely you haven't found the questions overwhelming have you?

I'm getting that old sinking feeling again ;-)

I would give them a call and explain. They have to understand your situation.

Hmm some great features in there, but still I'm a bit underwhelmed. NI seems to concentrate a lot on the library, which is totally irrelevant to many (including me), but maybe makes an attractive selling point. Kontakt gets more and more bloated with each update, and I might have to start looking elsewhere for a slick, light and creative sampler.

Anyway, none of my most anticipated features seem to be included. I would have been overjoyed for any of the following enhancements:

    - Real-time record of host(/audio interface's main) output (or directly dragging audio from host)
    - The ability to use Kontakt as an effect
    - Enhanced scripting language (+ more readymade scripts)

Well I hope they've at least fixed the (long time ago reported) bug that made Kontakt 2 crash everytime I tried to automate loop start or loop length...

    Hi,

I would like to know if they fixed the Quickload drop-down menus so you can use them when they reach the edge of the app window.

    Anyone know?

    I hate that bug.

I, too, have that feeling Bob:p

    I would love to hear from Thomas on some of the concerns that were raised, but there is also a good portion of replies that are strictly just;
"I hope Kontakt3 does <this or that>," so he might in fact be overwhelmed.

Now what can we say to underwhelm some response from him:p

Praise, praise, praise, praise, praise, praise, praise ...
Usually makes people more talkstive ;)

What a magnificent new program, just what we have all been waiting for. Kosmetik 3 will make NI the undisputed ruler of the sampling world.

Yes indeed Quoid, especially when you consider it probably doesn't do most of those things ;-)

You guys should try showing NI the shipping invoice date and see if they'll accept that as proof of purchase.

...there are people with a large sample library folder which they'd like to manage. Kontakt 2 really was unusable in that area - I was so hoping for a Kore browser. Any improvements in that area? The passage in the announcement video that showed you how to search for an instrument by name really made me laugh. What about the instrument categories - I posted about them about a year ago...

Just in case anyone's interested, here's a response from NI re my drag'n'drop query posted a few days ago:

"yes, Drag&Drop from Finder, when Kontakt 3 is used as Audio Units plug-in is possible."

wow. I thought that was only on my system.
It makes quick load unuseable on my system.
Didn't even know it was a known bug.
    thanks

I didn't see anything about sample start offset in DFD mode.
    Has this been "fixed" ?
