Solved Kontakt 5> can't install because a full version....

Hi there,

I have a problem that I tried to solve for weeks, but just couldn't do. Hope someone here can help me out.

I have a 64 bit windows 7 system and had Kontakt 5. Then an update came out and during the installation of that, my system crashed. So now I'm in some sort of loop

Now when I try to install any full version it says " installation is not possible since the full version is found on this computer.........you can update your existing Kontakt 5 full installation by running the latest Kontakt 5 update installer"

When I try to install the update file, it says " Installation is not possible since the full version was NOT installed ....."

I did everything....manualy remove registry items, scan it, optimize the registry, uninstallers of all kinds....nothing

So now I'm stuck with some projects of wich half of the samples do not work!

Anybody got the answer?

I don't know for sure, but my hunch is that your original, original installer might not be a full installer. Are you installing either from the factory CD, or from the Komplete CD/hard drive that Kontakt 5 originally came on?

 

Hi thanks for thinking along! but the installer is a full installer for sure.....tried an update as well....but nothing works! Just saying it's already installed and it's not

 

I also had this problem and found a solution.

You have to remove kontakt (manually, things like ccleaner wont work) from the registry.

Always backup before editing your registry!!!

Try this:

• click start > type regedit
• open regedit.exe
• in regedit go to: Computer > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Native Instruments
• Remove all folders with "Kontakt" in the name

Now you should be able to install Kontakt again!

Okay, then also try to check the following locations for any kontakt folder/files:

• C:\Users\[Your Name]\AppData\Local\Native Instruments
  
• C:\Users\[Your Name]\Documents\Native Instruments
  
• C:\Program Files\Native Instruments
  
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Native Instruments
  
• C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Service Center
  
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Native Instruments\Service Center

After you've deleted all kontakt files and folders open CCleaner and clean your registry

 

deleted them all....no result

 

Yeah but have you cleaned your registry with CCleaner after you deleted them?

I know, i had that exact same error message but i fixed it by doing wat i just told you to do. I think it's a good idea to double check everything again, to make sure you have not accidentally missed something

I also found some new folders to check for kontakt files/folders

• C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments
  
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Native Instruments
  
• C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center (look for Kontakt.xml)
  
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center (look for Kontakt.xml)

 

ok...doing that for the last and 173th time at the moment

 

checked it all.....everywhere....nothing to remove anymore...did ccleaner bussines edition check....removed all the files that came up....did a restart....same result!

 

you also checked the new folders i gave you?

 

yes....nothing in there as well

 

hmmm this sucks man we're running out of options here.

Try running the installer as admin. Also, try to opening and closing service center, and then try to install.

 

did it all....same result! I'm at the point where I say screw Kontakt....i will install it when I got a clean windows installed again! Anyway, thanks for ur help, much appreciated!

 

I found the solution!!
I had the same problem as luckystrike08
problem: in the registry there was still a kontakt 5 key under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Native Instruments/Kontakt 5

so my windows8(64-bit) just added the key to its virtual 32-bit registry

Install the program in another pc then copy all the files.
Tell us if you can fix the problem!

search a little on the pc because it installs stuff in common files and both program files and program files (x86)
