Here is the Kontakt 5 Library converted to Koresounds by myself and hi-d-ho-man. We have improved on the Kontakt 4 Library patches by making more detailed and specialised templates that actually follow more closely the layout of each instrument (rather than one single page generic one for everything as NI did with the K4 Koresounds) and in some cases the tagging is more detailed (although we have avoided tagging for genre and timbre in most cases as these are subjective decisions - you can add those yourselves if you want).

The only thing we have not converted is the Legacy VSL instruments as they are all incorporated into the K5 versions and don't really have a gui to map to anyway. Also I am still waiting for my Retro Machines so that may have to come later.

I have been able to delete my K4 library now and put this in its place so it saves a lot of disk space.

Thanks to hi-d-ho-man for his invaluable assistance and all who offered support. This went a lot quicker than I had anticipated and once the templates had been made it didn't seem much more to just continue to convert stuff.

    Brilliant! Thanx

    I'm grateful! Nice work...
I've been trying to use Maschine with K8 (I had a new Mac, had to travel and didn't have time to install K7 first to insure that Kore was functional. I'll fix it all when I'm back). I must say it's a struggle. thousands of sounds and no way to comprehensively browse. I'm still in a state of shock that NI abandoned this. I just can't recall a more willful sabotage of a product in many years of production (well, I can - but you know what i mean).
Excuse my rant. I know you're trying to keep it positive and constructive and that is a truly evolved way of moving forward. The fact is that what you did is terrific.
    Thanks again!

Just out of interest as I don't have it, in what way is the browsing in Maschine different from how it is in Kore?

In Maschine most of the emphasis is on browsing by product rather than the attributes of sounds. example Bank:Absynth Type:Absynth4, Absynth5, Absynth Legacy etc SubType: Bass, Bowed Strings, Brass etc

I see - that is a step backwards - the whole point of the Kore system was to get away from thinking in terms of products and banks

yeah, it's a huge step backwards! After using Maschine for some time now, I must say I don't use Maschines Preset Browsing (and struggle using K8 plug versions Browsers), because I can't find what I want, I can't search, narrow down attributes etc. I have to scroll through endless lists, hoping to identify and remember attributes of the sound from the preset name.

The huge Kore (and former K7 plug versions) advantage of categorizing, attributing sounds is gone. It's a shame.

So, which Komplete 8 plug-ins/NI instruments have been patched to Kore now? Only Kontakt 5 Library?
As I can understand, it's possible if you do it yourself, right?
I would like my Keys collection into Kore too...

Absynth, FM8, Kontakt and Massive users are complaining about it too. How big must the Maschine user base be that NI can do all this? Must be bigger then users of these programs together?

Adding this to the Kore sounds sticky

I've also added the full Prism bank now too - with added goodies - so another K8 instrument reclaimed for Kore 2 users
