I got Komplete 8 today. Didn't mean to. It was an accident. This will help a ton :)

I must be missing something about how to use this library.

I went to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Shared Content\Sounds, where I found a folder named "Kontakt 4". I deleted that folder and made a new folder named "Kontakt 5," in which I put the KSD files that I downloaded as described earlier in this thread. Kore wouldn't find them.

I have Kontakt 5 installed and apparently working. How do I get Kore to recognize these ksd files?

You probably just need to update the database. Go to prefs/database and run a complete scan

I had done that and it didn't seem to do anything. But I just realized that probably what's going on is that the Kontakt 5 patches aren't identified as such in the sound list, so I think they were there all along but I didn't realize it.

They should just appear under your factory sounds list (unless you put them in your user sounds folder).

I've added some instructions to the Zip file now to make it easier for people to install these.

I've just done this from scratch myself on my new Mac and it went flawlessly even though these were made on a Windows system.

You can save instances of Kontakt with any instrument loaded in Kore as Koresound.
Koresounds saved like that will open an instance of Kontakt in Kore with that instrument loaded.
So if you don't have koresounds for kontakt libraries you cannot directly use kontakt libraries, you'll have to make koresounds for them first. Then you can use them.
