I'm using it with a touch screen and full screen mode would be great!

Full screen is a must for all applications! It's absolutely inacceptable, that it's missing.

Would you care to explain how you did it? Thanks.

    Thanks for asking....

Normal windows programs use the Minimize/Maximize squares located in the top-right area.

But in the Kontakt player the Maximize square is greyed-out!
And at "File\Options\Interface" there is only "Reset Size"......STILL N.G.!

But, if you grab and drag the Bottom-right area you can stretch to FULL screen size.

At least now it fills the screen. :)

Being able to re-size the various modules in the layout would be a real plus!

Okay - you're talking Windows and I'm on a Mac. I have no File menu option; I can get to the Options window by either clicking on the Options entry in the gui header or by going to the Kontakt menu item at the top of my Mac's screen and selecting Preferences. I did see the 'reset size' button.

Grabbing and dragging the lower right area of the gui just expands the gui up and down in size - there is no horizontal (width) change. So no full screen. I thought I remembered seeing a gui size option in previous versions of Kontakt or am I just imagining this?

I'm working in standalone while doing this.

On windows it's exactly the same, at least with a 16:9 screen ;)

Aspect ratio has nothing to do with it. I wish I still had my old Windows system up and running because I seem to remember seeing the ability to change the gui size amongst 3 different sizes.

On a 4:3 screen it's nearly full screen ... that's what I wanted to say.

Nevertheless missing full screen support is embarrassing and needs to be changed ASAP.

I don't see how the K5 gui could ever be full screen UNLESS you have the browser side panel open which I don't. I have everything set up to use the Quick Load menu system so my K5 gui is very slim. I don't like to have things up I don't need and the browser is one of them - screen gets too crowded.

That's why I demand, that every NI GUI should behave like any other Windows program ... let the user choose, if he wants full screen or a custom window size!

It's not that simple and depends on how the gui programming is done. And remember that NI is not just developing for the Windows platform but Mac OSX as well and that is two totally different programming environments to deal with. Personally I don't care if I have full screen or not as long as I have readable gui elements and that CAN be done in the current gui (which I personally don't have an issue with).

Agree +1 the small VGA sized window is TERRIBLE. I can't even see parameters on more than one module at a time. So much unused screen real estate that could be filled with information... SAD.

I was thinking about updating to 6 for this very reason? Is there no improvement in that area? I HATE Kontakt's GUI.

Speaking of kontakt's limitations on window size, for years I've run into the issue of being unable to retrieve the full file path of some samples, because when you mouse-over the sample name (in the Wave Editor), the pop-up 'hint' showing the filepath gets truncated by the right side of the window, like this:

    kontakt_gui_issue.png
And this can be a hard problem to get around: you can't make that part of the UI wider, you can't copy the path to the clipboard, and samples embedded in nkx files can't be opened in an external editor.

This problem still remains in Kontakt 6 (from which the above screenshot is taken).

Update: I've discovered a (convoluted) work-around: run Kontakt in stand-alone mode; detach the Wave editor (with detach button); and mouse-over the sample name. The pop-up, showing the full path, will appear in Kontakt's main window, which is wider than the wave editor.
