When attempting to load any of the drum kits from a newly installed Abbey Roads 70s Drummer library I get a pop-up window that tells me "This patch was generated by a newer version of the application. Please upgrade your copy to load the patch."

My Kontakt 5 version is 5.0.0.5133, which is the latest version of Kontakt player, right? I mean, in the service center there would be a newer version for me to download if that were not the case, right?

Anyway, I've only had Komplete Elements for 2 weeks, so I'm new to Native Instruments. Also, this error message will pop up in both stand-alone mode and when it's running inside my DAW.

Like DarkStar wrote latest version is 5.5.1.

Besides using Service Center, you can always check for the latest updates here (after you login with your account):

Right. Thanks for pointing me to the latest version. However, I thought the very point of Service Center is that it's the one place NI customers are supposed to go for downloading the latest updates. Guess I was wrong?
Anyway, I've just checked all the tabs in Service Center (obviously, the one labeled "Update") and you know what? There ain't no mention of an update for my Kontakt Player!
What now? At the moment I have the .exe file for Kontakt Player 5.5.1 sitting on my desktop but I won't run it because I've got a feeling that it will mess things up (attempting an update outside of SC) and create more trouble than it's worth. Maybe there's a way for me to update Service Center itself? I did a search for an update but "no go".

For what it's worth I stopped using Service Center some time ago for updates. I just download them individually from my NI Account and run them. But I have not installed any new NI products recently.

Well, Service Center should basically provide are more convenient way for updating your NI products, but it seems to be a little bit buggy for some users (like not showing the latest updates or still showing updates in the list although they were already installed). So usually the best way to check for the latest updates is via the download area on the NI webpage. (link in post #3).

Just run the downloaded installer-.exe and install the update. You'll be fine.

Using Service Center is the same procedure. The only difference is that instead of downloading and installing the update-files manually (from the download area), Service Center does these steps for you by clicking one button ...

    Good oh :)

Out of curiosity (if you want to look) - what does Service Center now say for all your products?
