    1. Ability to create user libraries in the libraries tab + some way to create a hierarchical library structure which is easy to use, visual, and responsive. The current methods for the libraries which aren't large commercial powered by kontakt releases are far from ideal and hard to navigate.

    2. Ability to import libraries designed for other engines (sampletank, play, etc.).

    3. Ability to run standalone application as a "Slave" with an insert plugin for inside the master daw. Something like VEP which I can run on multiple computers. This should have nice multicore support so we can abuse our old quad core machines.

    4. This may sound weird - but if #3 is implemented, then support for vst instruments as kontakt instruments would be epic.

    1. Won't happen.

    2. Won't happen.

    NI doesn't roll that way.

No need to be so negative. Both 1 and 2 can be accomplished by a power user already. But it would be much nicer if such things weren't made by editing data files or required third party programs or tremendous amounts of work.

Maybe NI doesn't roll that way but unless they step up their kontakt platform, sample libraries will start offering their library in other engines. Play and best service are examples of this already. I like NI and Kontakt, so I want them to deliver the benchmark sample library platform each version.

of course if kontakt could load vst instruments, then being able to load other libraries natively wouldn't matter so much.

Loading VSTs is a horrible can of worms with a massive potential of creating tons of issues. So my guess is that NI is not going to risk it. Time will tell if I'm right or not.

In quite a number of cases 1 and 2 cannot be achieved even by power users. Why? Play libraries do have freely available samples as .wav files, but you get no information about their mapping or internal scripting at all. And any IRs are monolithed so you cannot access them outside of Play at all (that is, until Play Pro gets out, which seems to be stalling forever now. There's also massive differences between KSP script language in Kontakt and Python in Play). Good luck with your conversion.

MachFive 3 has an actual synth engine inside, something that Kontakt doesn't have at all (and quite likely won't ever have because NI has their own range of synths). Good luck converting anything using that into Kontakt.

Examples can go on and on like this.

PLAY libraries don't use wav files, they are encoded into a proprietary format that can't be played or translated by other apps.

Kontakt already imports some other sampling formats, they could add others that aren't copy protected.

put me in for "loading progress bar" or something similar that would let me know how long a saved multi is going to take to load?

    1) Can of worms in both licensing and coding realms.

    2) Bad for NI business, but would be ideal for users.

    3) Just use VE Pro, they have expertise in this.

    1. itunes integration - so you can get any sample thats in itunes into kontact quickly and easily.

    2. being able to play/chop all file types.

    3. a MUCH better sample chop system, with the ability to preview samples as they are being cut.

    Real world wishlist
    - a really good distortion
    - fixing listener callback weird behaviour on different platform (VST, AU and AAX behave in different ways out of the box)

    Dreaming of
    - floating point variables
    - string comparison
    - functions with arguments

It would be nice to see a bigger screen for the KSP editor too.

How does that compare against the Nils Liberg KScript editor?

Much better than KScript ever was. As I said in the post above.

    1. An option to load any library PURGED (especially Orchestral libraries)
    2. real background loading of samples and programms = kontakt loads all instances and its instruments one had setup in a template
while the user has access to its DAW. Samples that are not loaded won't playback until they are.
Kontakt should behave the way Studio Drummer behaves = playing back the instance while its still loading.

Regarding 2. when I call up my non VEP Orchestral template in Logic or studio one I don't wanna stare at the "Background Loading Screen"

We need .scl support and the global microtuning (maybe For all loaded nki instruments). For example: when I alternately loading nki instruments to find the right sound, I need them to stay microtuned, (extremely uncomfortable to retune every time a new loaded instrument). It would also be great to have SCALA native SUPPORT for easy browsing different tunings. Also not all the instruments works correctly with microtuning scripts, for example, if the instrument has round robin or legato scripts. Also pay attention to folk music, Oriental and Indian. Extremely difficult to transfer all of its subtleties with what is available.

You've connect omplete with S series keyboards, may it is possible to connect kontakt with itself?

It would be really awesome, if kontakt has global variables, like in ReaScript for JS. In one patch work it isn't necessary, but with big orchestral library, couldn't be loaded in one instance of kontakt - it could reduce ours for tuning single orchestral library at the user side

or may be not global variables, but protokol like PGS_KEY but for connecting several instances of plugin
