Since (I think) I installed Kontakt 1.53, it crashes when I use it as a standlone. I open it, load a patch, hit a key on my keyboard (evolution mk-461-c), and nothing happens. Then, after a moment the hourglass appears, and I get a windows error message, and the program shuts down. I have all other midi devices closed. This also happens when I try to trigger a note using the mouse in the editing keyboard in Kontakt.

This doesn't seem to happen (yet) when I use Kontakt in Sonar 3 as a dxi.

I have a Dell PC running windows xp. 256 megs ram and a 1 mgh intel processor.

    Any suggestions?

I get that too! Amazingly, no one else has.. I hit a note on my keyboard and Kontakt tells me that 'some unexpected error' blah blah.... This problem was in 1.52 though and after updating to 1.53, it has somehow disappeared... Good luck solving it though!

Do you have ASIO drivers installed for your soundcard? If not try using the MME drivers. The latency is really bad but it might solve the problem.

Alternatively you could also try uninstalling 1.5.3 and any previous versions (DFD included). Then install 1.5.3 only. I remember some folk reporting a problem when overinstalling a previous version.

    cheers
