    hello,

    i have the following question:

i'd like to run kontakt with 4 stereo outputs (i did so in the past).

i configured kontakt in standalone mode to have 4 stereo outs (see pic 1)

now, if i open kontakt in my host application (cubase 5), i only get one stereo channel and the other three are blanked out (see pic 2).

    what am i doing wrong?

As far as I can remember, you need to configure it it each edition of Kontakt - that is, for each of the VSTis

i can't configure the outputs permanently.

    i proceed this way:

    -open cubase
    -load kontakt
    -configure channels (see picture 1)
-message "close and re-open plugins" (pic 2)
    -closing kontakt
    -re-open kontakt

    -configuration is gone (pic 3)

Have a look at Chapter 14,1 in the Reference Manual - after you have created / named / routed your channels, click [Make Default]

    thanks dark star.
the channels are now permanentely stored.

the problem is not yet fully solved though, because the channels 2-4 are not being created in the cubase mixer.

if i'm loading an instrument in kontakt and change its output channel to 2,3 or 4 - it's simply not routed to the mixer.

You need to reload the plugin after any changes in Kontakt's output mixer when using Cubase, I think.

I don't have to do that in Reaper. :)

there is still only one kontakt channel in the mixer section. =(

    thanks glittle,

    that worked!

it's the small little arrow box in the VST-instruments menu.

    thx again!
