i'm hoping someone from NI in Berlin will respond to this...

the Kontakt Library webpage has this picture of the Choir gui:

notice that in the articulations box there are keyswitches for vowels (on the left) and consonants (right). i have Kontakt 5 and the consonant keyswitches do not appear in the gui

please confirm whether the image is correct for the current version of Choir and if so how to update so i have the consonant keyswitches

    thx!

(i contacted NI in Los Angeles and the response was inconclusive)

I just installed Kontakt 5 and was wondering the same. There is no such instrument included, but at NI's website there is a picture of this missing instrument.

Yeah, they messed up, it seems. It doesn't exist in the factory library yet. I guess it's still in the works, and that was just a test screenshot or something.

Indeed it seems. The thing is, the additional samples were included in K4 already
and up to this day there is no instrument taking advantage of them.
    Very strange.

Hey! I never checked the choir sample folder, thanks :)
Are there more goodies that aren't used? I only found some basic synth "classic waveform samples" in the synth folder.

When you do a batch compress to NCW, it shows up the samples that are actually used by the instruments compared to those sitting idle in the directory. Its a real eye opener even in 3rd party libs how many unused samples there are lying around.

Yes, but still, the picture above is shown on the Kontakt 5 product page, which leads the users to believe there is such an instrument with consonants.
So, Kontakt 4 is around like 2 years or so and up to this day, even with Kontakt 5, the instruments were not updated with new features. On a side note: Band folder:
The drum instruments included have a built in sequencer which you can use to program your own beats, but it is not shown in the user interface. Of course you can accsess it in the script slot, but why, for example the performance instruments from the Urban Beats folder, do indeed have the built in seqeuncer shown in the user interface.

Essentially, IMO this is inconsistent-> since K4.

The story is that they didn't make the script fully functional yet. Who knows when will it be available.

That maybe so, but in the K5 factory library the consonants are missing. So...

You mean as NKI files? Naturally - NKIs didn't exist even in K4 library. I'm pretty sure they've packed it all to the monolith...

No, I meant the samples in the sample folder. In K4 the samples are there but not in K5.

You mean, the samples for K5 factory library are not packed in an NKX monolith? I believe I've read that they are packed like that. If that's the case, then I don't think you can see what's contained in the monolith... so how can you tell?

i imagine someone from NI has read this thread by now. would be nice if they answered the questions instead of leaving us guessing

if it's not available when will it be?

don't just tease us with a gui :p

    :)

    I don't. ;)

There are always a LOT of threads that go by unanswered as this is primarily a USER forum. Only a few threads at best ever get an NI response.

Your best best if you want an answer from the horse's mouth, is to Kontakt NI.

    I did. ;)

Not by posting on the forums. :p

Your best bet is either a support ticket (if you are prepared for a long wait), or to use the phone number buried somewhere deep on the website. ;)
