Kontakt crashing on importing EXS - help !

I created an EXS file with MainStage 3, auto sampler. When I try to import it, Kontakt crashes. From previous threads, I can see that this is a known bug that NI can't be bothered to fix and don't think an application crashing is in need of fixing. (Not at all impressed with NI - really poor show !)

However, does anyone have any suggestions for how to convert EXS files to Kontakt ? Many thanks....

Ps. I don't have Logic ! (I use Ableton Live - not the suite version and don't have Sampler)

We keep this code current, to handle newer version EXS files. It is unfortunate that NI chose to not keep their loading code updated.

Do you mean that NI has not (yet) taken the latest loader from yourselves. Hasn't NI been licensing your code for years?

 

No. (Although a different issue) The larger concern in our minds is that since version 4.2, the modulators and filters and effects (and couple other things) are non-accessible in reading a Kontakt file. (Though we can read everything else.) This means all complete work stored within a Kontakt file is stuck within the format. If you choose to use anything else, your work is lost. NI chose to be protectionist at the expense of the user in this case. We hope they will change their course, and soon. (A related issue is that you cannot read a newer NKI in a older Kontakt, That could be expected, but it causes large problems. If we could read the mod/filter/fx, we could bridge this gap. But no.)
