Kontakt Installation Question

    I have been having severe problems but seem to be halfway home on the fix. I'll make a real long story short. When I instantiate Kontakt within Pro Tools (and I use Windows 7), and click on an instrument , it freezes. It started doing this on its own a couple weeks ago without any changes to Kontakt or my system. I keep the instrument sounds on an external drive. Native Access shows that the Kontakt Factory selection has not been installed. It also shows to be downloaded in My Products Serials & Downloads. When I tried this before (downloading), the instruments showed as a separate module in Kontakt. So, now, I am confused. Do I need to get rid of the factory sounds that I have been using all along (I have the most recent update to version 5, by the way) and then download or what? Thanks so much!

    Be aware that the Kontakt Factory Library got an update back at the time K5.6.5 came out; you know - the one where the keytops got the little color chiclets. Make sure you have that update. Also make sure your external drive hasn't gone to sleep.
