Kontakt/Komplete

I have been a Kontakt owner since it first came out. i just learned that I have Komplete coming as a birthday present.

I know that Komplete has Kontakt in it so I wouldn't checkmark it to install from Komplete. Does everything in Komplete need to work from within Kontakt? I am just wondering what happens when I install everything in Komplete except Kontakt.

I use Windows 7 and Pro Tools 11.3.

Komplete has several other products alongside Kontakt, so, no, not everything in Komplete needs to work within Kontakt.

You should be OK as long as you have the lastest version of Kontakt )some of the Komplete libraries may need that)..

If Komplete is a full edition (not an upgrade or crossgrade) I would be tempted to uninistall Kontakt itself then install / activate Komplete fully (then the updates too). The Komplete serial number will activate Kontakt too. Then you will have a Kontakt product that you could transfer to someone-else.

 

Thanks. At this point, I want to go back to where I was before and leave Komplete for later for time sake. How do I fix the issue shown on the attachment that occurred because the Komplete installation was stopped halfway?

 

What happens when you try to "Locate" those libraries?

Or do you need to reinstall them?

 

Location doesn't work. I have resorted to a full reinstall and no mater what, I am not getting the Kontakt 5 Library.
