    Hello KONTAKT users,

As everybody of you has already discovered, did we not make it in time for the update of KONTAKT - once again. We are very sorry and unhappy about that and understand your anger.

The beta test of the update is running and we have a feature freeze. Therefore we are of good cheer to publish the update soon. We had a lot of problems with the implementation of AU since the interface is still very young. We had to rewrite parts of the code we actually did not intend to touch. Believe us - we are coding like mad and we do not drive Porsches.

I wish I could spend more time in the forums to communicate with you. I will try to improve.

    Regards,
    Julian

Any chance we can at least now get an idea of what the "new" features mentioned in earlier threads might be?

Especially now that the feature set is frozen... give us some good news!

    Thanks for the hard work.

    Thanks Julian,
It's good to know what is going on. In a way, I, and many other users regards Kontakt as "ours", as much as you do. And I appreciate to know what happens to the baby

Just figured I'd throw in a little side-comment here; Nothing satisfies us "normal" (e.g. not whiny ungrateful know-it-all) customers as much as seeing a post like this, from an ACTUAL DEVELOPER of the product. I just figured I'd try to encourage this, since it's greatly rewarding to get this kind of news first-hand.

Being a software developer myself I know how hard it can be to find the time, but also being a regular at a number of major product forums I can greatly sense the value of writing even a two-line statement for the community to savor.

Thanks for stopping by, and let's hope both coders and QA's retains sanity through the process =)

What a refeshing thing to have a real update/aplogy from a real developer. Thank you. Perhaps you could give MOTU a tip or two on that. I will wait as long as I have to as I do not code although I do drive a Porsche 911 Cabriolet!!!! I guess I'll just go for al ong drive.

Thanks for the update and all the hard work.

If possible please pass along to the other hardworking developers that us users are not all bitter trolls and many of us sincerely appreciate the fact that they are doing something difficult that has never been done before .

Can't wait to get a working OSX setup, though. Until then, happily rocking out with Kontakt 1.2.1.

Actually, I don't need AU support.

I run Kontakt as a standalone application. Couldn't you release a version without AU support for the moment?

    Hello all,

Thanks for cheering us up a bit. Your support and critics do have a direct impact to the members of the Kontakt team. Please do not assume, that it is not affecting us.

Only to straighten things out, I am the product manager of Kontakt. I was involved in the design and responsible for the "mismanagement" of the Kontakt. The actual guru behind the software part is Wolfgang. He is the developer who wasn't afraid of the Kontakt complex, but happily went for the challenge. Knowing his attitude and work ethics there is more to come.

    Thanks for your support,
    Julian

    Julian and Wolfgang,
You both deserve the praise that too often goes unsaid, since most of us are having a great experience with your products, and so don't take time out to thank those behind the ideas. As for me, Kontakt and Reaktor are at times making me think of selling my other equipment and their spaghetti connections! But, I'll never do that!!
