kontakt wont show with athlon dual core

Hi there, is there any fixes for kontakt not showing with athlon x2 dual core 3.8 gig processors?

I just bought east west symphonic orchestra gold edition which runs off kontakt too.

So now i have no kontakt and no east west gold strings!!!

please help, is there a fix or an update that gets kontakt running, i need urgent help,

The core frequency of an X2 4800+ is 2.4 GHz...

Any specific reason why you believe the processor to be the problem?
You might want to describe exactly what happens when you try to start Kontakt2.
Btw. have you upgraded to the latest version (available at this website - support/updates/kontakt2)?
Have you tried running Kontakt standalone?

again, sure its the processor? with me kontakt works. though, from reading this forum kontakt working with anything is erratic

 

It's not clear what you mean by "Kontakt not showing" -- please provide us with more specific details of what's going wrong. Are you unable to find the standalone application or something?

This is certainly not tied to your particular CPU.

On my old pc, athlon 3 gig processor and cubase sx 2...

I installed kontakt and when in cubase i go to vst instruments it is there in the list so i can use it.
I also installed east west symphonic strings gold edition which runs off kontakt. That too is in the vst instruments in cubase and works a treat.

Now......

I bought a new pc with dual athlon 3.8 gig processors. Running cubase sx 3

I installed kontakt and it works standalone or as an audio insert but '' it doesnt show as a vst instrument in cubase'

also i installed the east west gold strings on new pc and they too dont show in the vst instrument list,

so i cant use kontakt or gold strings as a vst instrument coz they aint listed.

I had no probs or errors with installation!! they just dont show?

On your new computer... Did you install K2 before you installed Cubase?

I use PT so I’m not exact on this but did you check your c:\Program Files\Steinberg folder to see if theres a K2 .dll file there? I’m not sure if K2 uses that folder for its VST plug-in but, that maybe a place to start.

 

The problem is probably that Cubase is referencing a different VST plug-ins folder than K2/EW installed to.

Find the VST plug-ins folder that Cubase is using, and manually move the K2/EW VST plug-ins there, and you should be good to go.

 

jep, it has to be in:

cubase sx 3 > vstplugins.
