Kontakt4 as VSTi

Using Acid 6d I can create a project using Battery3, Massive, or Kompakt, save and reload just fine. But if I try to use Kontakt3 or Kontakt4 reloading the project will hang Acid. Is there a trick to using K3 or K4 ?

 

It should work, and there's nothing unusual you have to do. I would recommend you get the latest version (4.0.5) and if that's still not working, file a report with tech support who might have more ideas.

 

4.0.5 update installed, tech support looking into it. To be more specific, the hang occurs only in this sequence - project build, save, reload, save, reload. On the initial reload K4 loses the instrument selections made and saved on the build and Acid has deselected K4 as the midi out. And that will be my real problem. What's the point of building a midi project if you can't recall your instruments. Again, B3 Massive & Kompakt projects all retain their settings on reload. The Sony forum & tech are silent on the matter (a little surprised they didn't swear an Acid7 upgrade would solve the problem, but if I need to forfeit money might as well support someone who's doing their job). Looking at a 2 year history of the Sony forum on midi problems is not encouraging, and the KVR forum is thumbs down on Acid as a "real" host.
