Kontrol D2?

Makes little difference for me since I don't use controllers but, it shows NI is working on stuff contrary to what people believe.

Glad I didn't loose any sleep over this by watching it live ...

 

Kind of expected something like this. Going to wait and see on the details, but looks like a decent replacement for my CDJ400s.

 

Yep this has zero impact on my dj'ing.

 

Hmmm ... Not sure that I'll be moving from my pair of X1mk2 yet ...

The S8 didn't suit my workflow so I'm not sure that a pair of these will either, maybe 4 of them lol ...

 

ouch, that should have been inspired in the S4 deck layout... if it had pitch fader and jog wheels they'd have me. i've been wanting to use traktor with the S4 decks control combined with an external mixer for some time. maybe something like that is in the oven as well. nice move anyway, even though i didn't fall for the S8 in the first place... for the music i play, i can't work with sync enabled 100% of the time.

I think I'm landing on adding one of these to my S4 and STR8 150. I like the idea of 2 Traktor decks, the D2 for remix decks and 1 turntable. I was going to get an F1 anyway, why not get the new one with the screen? Still digging NI.

 

Do we know anything about release date or price?

 

I'm telling you when NI go quiet they got some stuff coming. Maybe not this year, but new Traktor 3, DJ Mixer (Z2 upgrade), Komplete 11 (2016 my guess), new audio interfaces possibly, and maschine 3.0 software/controller(new arrangement). I've been following their patterns for 10 years. Can't wait. I'd rather they take their time and knock it out the park with everything they do. Imagine trying to have Numark to do Traktor DJ software lol. Friendmann, James Walker Hall, Floridan, Jens H. are busting butt to get us great products!

I like my jog wheels, but in a few years I will be just a nice dinosaur.

 

Interesting product and the way it was showcased and teased at the WMC event. Now more than ever NI really needs at 4 channel mixer to complement the D2 Hopefully more to come from NI.

I like how Uner rarely look at his laptop and had the decks minimized.

What did you guys think of the featured DJs performance when using this new product & Traktor in the video?

 

I'm glad they are working on things i do wish they would throw us DJs who don't spin deep house a bone it almost feels like they forgot about us.

Us CDJ turntable DJs matter too!!!!

 

And what exactly do you need from S8/D2 that you cannot have with S4/F1/X1 ?

the poster thinks that the D2 will either drive more mixers to become Tratkor Cert or NI needs to come out with a 4 channel. I agree. either would be good both would be great.
