    Hi!

I have just purchased a F1 to use as a controller for Notch. Works pretty good. Although I notice that there is a dead zone at start and end of the knobs and faders. Guess about 5-10%. This annoying since i need to have effects started right away and not after a short delay. I tried recalibrating but this has no effect.

Also, I noticed that in Notch the values are not consistent. So halfway on a knob is not always 0.5. Sometimes it's 0.501 or 0.498.

Is this Notch not understanding the interface? Or is this my lack of midi knowlegde shining through?

The faders and knobs in midi mode work in steps. That is why you get a little delay. For example I have mapped my faders to control knobs from the FX units. The whole range of the fader (and the controlled knob in Traktor) is devided into steps from o to 7. Where 0 is closed and 7 is total open fader.

    Thanks!

Ok, I understand the stepping, but I would expect the first step to sit way down on the slider in stead of at 5-10% upwards... same for the knobs.

It is hard for me to believe that this is standard behaviour. This is probably a deal breaker for me and I might need to return the device (and reconsider using other controllers in the future).

Left is where the signal starts coming from the fader/knob, right is set to actual hardware "0"

Every midi controller will have this behaviour due to the fact how midi works. The travel of the fader or rotation of a knob is divided into steps and as far as I have noticed at an equal interval. In case of Traktor this are 7 intervals. Notch might have smaller or bigger steps.
When you start moving your fader or knob at the next step midi value will be send. 20200513_095710A.jpg
