Solved Kontrol M32 is speaking to me...

I have a weird behaviour with the M32. It speaks to me when I use it in Ableton. Not sure if it's an Ableton "feature" or not - since my A61 doesn't behave like this. Every time I touch a knob or change a setting it speaks to me in a German accent. Yes, this sounds funny but it is annoying. Anyone here to guide me to where to disable that crap?

The feature is the "voice assist" function for blind users. There is normally a checkbox in the Komplete Kontrol software but like many features at the moment, it's simply missing (tho for the MK1 it appears in there).

I vaguely recall there was a way to enable/disable it with some combination of buttons from the hardware but at the moment I cannot find that info or if I was just imagining things but I have just checked with my A series and I get occasional voice prompts too which is strange since I never enabled anything. Possibly another bug to chalk up to the latest release.

    Found it:

ADDED Accessibility for A-Series keyboards via announcements in BROWSER, PLUG-IN (parameters, plug-in chain) SCALE, and ARP
-Enable / disable Accessibility Mode using SHIFT + IDEAS (top left button on keyboard + third button to the right in second row)

Funnily enough, I tried this and my accessibility was already off (as I suspected it was) and it toggled ON. So the voice is a bit of a bug by the sounds of it but try that anyway and see if it works for you.

I am sad to say that this is still an issue I have. I added a new track to Ableton, chose KK and instantly M32 talks to me and I cannot turn it off with SHIFT+IDEAS. It tells me though it has turned off but it isn't. I guess this is a firmware issue so please fix this ASAP as I won't continue to use the M32 with this bug.

I had the same issue and this fixed it.

    2.4.3. Training Mode

KOMPLETE KONTROL Training Mode makes it easy to locate a specific button or parameter with- out accidentally triggering an action. When Training Mode is activated, all button presses and pa- rameter names are announced but the corresponding action is not triggered.

    Activating Training Mode

    • To activate or deactivate Training Mode from the KOMPLETE KONTROL keyboard while the KOMPLETE KONTROL software is running, double-press the SHIFT button on the top left of the keyboard.

I've got an issue where by I cannot turn Training Mode off. every double tap of the shift key results in the Training Mode ON" announcement.
Anyone know how to reset this to off??

EDIT [nevermind - I have it sorted, but I do not know how...so I'll leave this here]
    Cheers,
    Matt

shift ideas works only for the given session. If you start next day from scratch the anoying voice is back again. Sh....this drives me crazy and brings me to the point never to use Komplete devices from NI.

Have you tried turning off in Standalone then reopening the DAW project. There may be a setting that gets saved to disk but since KK is being used as a VST, the setting never gets written if you change it there, only in standalone mode...Just a thought!

hey thanks Blindeddie, but what do you mean exactly with '...turning off in Standalone...' do not understand what to do.
What should i turn off? What do you mean with 'standalone'?
My situation is having the M32 connected via USB (there is no turning off power switch) and on the computer i have f.e. Ableton running and want to use M32 as a simple midi keyboard like the tousand others i have. In Ableton f.e is running Monark as part of Reaktor or Maschine and using the M32 encoders for midi mapping the instruments. Then i have to fiddle around with the octaves and get this anoying voice. Best Greetings from a fired programmer maybe. I stop it with shift ideas. Im saving the project and next time i open it the voice 'Masters Voice' is back. I really have fear to purchase another keybords from NI not knowing if this anoying will happen even with the higher priced S Series???

What I meant was opening KK in stand-alone mode and turn off the voice assist by pressing Shift + Ideas. Then close stand-alone. Then open Ableton and try a project that has an existing KK VST in it and see if you get any voice assist. What I am thinking is that when opened as a VST, that changing any KK Keyboard settings related to the actual hardware (voice assist for example) that setting does not get saved to the KK control settings even when saving the DAW project as it is not a project specific setting, but more of a Global setting. I have not tested my theory,
So I figured you could be the test subject! :p

    Peace

Thanks a lot for the information. FYI I do not use KK SW at all. I will use the M32 as pure naked midi keyboard. Shift Ideas to stop voicing sh..works with any daw and any plug at any time. But But But it will not be stored. I'm waiting for one of the next updates and my view to NI keys stays as to be in an uncertain situation. Its a shame NI seems to igore the many voices of its users.

Regardless of whether you use KK as a VST or not, did you give my suggestion a try by opening KK standalone once, turning off voice assist and see if it sticks? I have an M32 And do not have this issue at all.

there was an issue I read about a while back where midi mode templates would reset every time the keyboards were unplugged (turned off) that had to do with specific steps of how either a KK or firmware was updated...could be related (or not) I will try to dig up the post and attach a link!

    Peace,

Sorry to say that this isn't solved at all.
I figured out a workaround though. I also have a A61. Once I switch to it using the menu "Controller", it's silent. But please NI, fix this, this is so annoying!
