Arrived today. Got a great deal. I was using a Numark Omnicontrol but wanted something that was better integrated with TP2.

Installed on my Toshiba Satellite I7 quad, 8 gigs of ram. Activated and downloaded 2.1. No proplems. I do see my cpu meter spiking on occasion so I will put it thru the test this weekend to see how it responds.

So far I can say the faders feel nice, great length. The jog wheels feel nice with good resistance. Sound quality is good. I'm new to TP2 from ver 1 and it seems like there are more display options in regards to ie, eq, flt. I can see how not having a Dedicated filter knob is a bummer along with no inputs, but it's a very clean lay out. Need to work on how to utilize the sample decks on the S2.

    More to come.

Check the S2 Preferences panel. There you can toggle the main function of Gain knob betwen Gain/Filter. The second function will be available by using SHIFT

Do you know how to use the effects? Is there any literature available on this? I have the S2

again by using shift on A or B deck holding shift and pushing each efx knob down you can change what effect you want with out using the laptop.
if you want a effect on say A then push the fx button for 1 then what eva fx you want to use, you can use fx from 1 in to 2 if that makes sence. the first knob withe the stanby icon next to it controls how much of the fx you want.

Is the lack of quantize/snap a problem? That's the one thing preventing me from buying an S2 since selling my S4.

Quantize snap, you press shift + sample deck A or B

I found it by trying lots of buttons.

just to double check, you did mean the Q & S buttons on traktor?

Haha - OK. And yes, those are the ones I meant. :) Also, is it easy enough to have the filter perma-mapped to an FX?

Yeah you can map it like normal just on a different knob, its already mapped to the gain knob as standard. But its a notchy knob, thats easy to change

Sorry for the dumb questions...But it doesn't feel like a hassle to manage the filter as an FX, right? I use it pretty regularly (as I imagine most people do), so I don't want to have to remap it constantly.

Its already mapped, but its on a notchy rotary. You can permanently set it to any other rotary though, you've only got to do it once
