So, got the S8. Loving it.

My setup is one that utilizes the inputs to use two traktor control vinyl decks.

I run the decks in relative mode because I still want to take advantage of a number of things including sync every so often. But one thing I noticed was that while I can change the tempo of a deck running on DVS I can't seem to change it back. At least not without syncing it to something else.

The global tempo control is ignored. I get that this is what happens when in DVS mode since the tempo is traditionally controlled by the pitch of the actual deck. But the fact that it can be changed by the sync mode makes me think it should also be controlled by the global tempo knob on the S8.

Right now, the only way I've found to get back to a space where I can change the tempo with the knob is to knock it out of DVS mode by engaging the deck with the actual play button. This brings the deck back into internal playback mode, and now the tempo control is released to the global knob.

I'd be ok with that if there were also a way to get back into DVS mode. But I get that wasn't what the S8 was really designed to focus on. Well, would you look at that. Shift+Play does exactly that. Cool ;p

Sweet, well I guess my actual complaint now is I'd rather the tempo knob just worked when in relative DVS mode. Since apparently the sync function can work in relative mode, I'm thinking there isn't some serious technical limitation there.
