Kontrol Z2 don't connect

Hello everybody,

i have a problem with my Kontrol Z2. Very often the Kontrol Z2 its not recognized from my MacBook. I tried with both USB Ports. Sometimes i put the Kontrol Z2 ON/OFF 8 Time or more, than i can use the Kontrol Z2 on my MacBook.

When i plugged in my Kontrol Z2 can't connect with my MacBook, i check it with my Kontrol X1. I plug this one in my MacBook and the X1 is directly connected and lights up. The Kontrol Z2 doesn't light up and i can only use this with normal Vinyl.

Has anyone the same Problem or know anyone this Problem? On Thursday i will check the show room model in the local Music Store, if i will have the same problem with their show room Kontrol Z2, but maybe someone of you will has a solution for my problem.

 

Might try reinstalling the driver.

This exact same thing is happening to me as well! Sometimes the only thing I can do is a cold reboot, which is extremely annoying considering how much I spent on this mixer. I thought maybe the order of turning on the mixer and connecting to usb and starting tracktor mattered, but no matter what (even following the manual to the T) I always run into this problem.

I'm on osx 10.6.8. I really hope NI looks into this. It's driving me nuts!

 

I had a similar issue too... Just figured out a solve from a bit more reading online.

Turns out that I needed to apply a 10.6.8 System Combo Update.
It fixes a System/Extension/AppleHDA.kext file (reverting back I think to one from OS 10.6.7).

Now, I can freely turn the Kontrol Z2 on/off at will or plug/unplug it. or put the mac to sleep and wake it up.. and it's Immediately recognized again by the mac.. as it should.

Problem Solved.

I'm now on Mountain Lion because of the latest Traktor Pro update.

 

@blancodisco - I just wanted to say thanks for posting your reply! I updated to the 10.6.8. v1.1 System Combo Update and so far the last two times I've tried to connect my Z2, no issues! Huge lifesaver! Appreciate it mate!

got a similar issue: Looks like my Z2 is not being recognized by PRO 2 i.e. it doesnt come up in the settings menue and none of the buttons, faders and knobs shows any reaction.

All settings. (usb) connections etc are correct!

Any advice?

 

Hi everyone, this is a problem I have with my audio 10 and my Z2 and it's really starting to piss me off. I sometimes have to keep turning my Z2 on and off, Traktor scratch 2 on and off several times before it works. I have tried updating my Mac, and Traktor and I have re installed the software and I still have no luck. Can anyone help please. I use macbook Pro 2012 edition I5 processor

ive had the same issues.

i also use the mixer as a stand alone mixer and not only does the USB not work, it doesn't work as a stand alone mixer (sometimes i have to reboot several times before it works).

im in the process of returning the mixer to native instraments (this is the 2nd time ive sent it in for repairs) for a complete replacement.

 

...another question....am getting access to most of the functionalities and my Z2 and PRO 2 are finally communicating with each other BUT: I'm unable to control the Master volume plu the pre7post FX section ....Any advice???

 

I have sort of similar issue, when I plug the mix into computer I can operate software via mixer. But in audio setup I can't switch my internal soundcard with the one in the mix (in audio device) as a result, no sound is coming from the mix. It plays only from computer. Does anyone have any idea what to do? Thank you!

 

Sounds like some of you had the same issue as this thread? Any luck with NI Support or other fixes?

 

My Z2 turns up but is often not recognized by my Macbook Pro with Mavericks. When I turn it up there are only 3 words shining "A - MST - B" just above the 2 channel faders. When I turn it on, sometimes, all the lights are shining correctly and then it is recognized. Should I take it back to NI?

I am still experiencing this problem. My Z2 mixer can not recognize the connection between the mixer and Laptop. Often I have to restart the laptop and turn on/off on the mixer 8-10 times. I always start-up my laptop (currently running Yosomite 10.10.4 & Traktor 2.10.0) from home so all drivers have time to load in. Sometimes it work, sometimes it just will not see the connection to the laptop. It is very frustration
