Kontrol Z2 Registration Issue

From A Ebay seller I bought an absolute unused TSP license. He had another TSP license. Therefore he sells the newly bought license. Now I noticed that this software is only to use with the Z2 Hardware.

But in the internet NI write for the Z2 hardware/software bundle that this is a full version of the software. Also In the descriptions of the hardware no clear limitations of the software are mentioned.


Therefore I contact the NI support and the answer was: It is my problem.


Is this the right way NI???

I'm also in contact with the seller, but he tould me that there is no information or limitation on the package, that clearly says this is a limited TSP edition. To get my money back (paypal) I must be sure that NI wrote it anywhere. Why NI can not send me a pdf or something else where clearly marked that it is forbidden to sell this software as second hand? Don't understand me wrong, but in the case there is no information about a limitation, the seller not screwed me, but if there is an information I would bring my money back. Thanks to help me. Your best bet is to contact support and get confirmation about your situation and regards to bundled software. It is illegal to sell software separately with a bundled hardware.

 

It's not "illegal", just against the EULA. Which is why you might not get much help from Paypal.

Have you tried actually using the software you bought? Does it not work?

 

the edition is not limited, but bound to the hardware AFAIK and it is written in the EULA IIRC.
however, i could not find the info in the knowledge base, so i'm also asking internally.

on a side note... why did you buy this license? do you have already a TSP certified device?

 

The software bundled with newer NI hardware requires the hardware serial to be input for the software serial to work, but beyond that there are no additional ties to the exact hardware itself.
