Kontrol Z2 unresponsive after a few seconds

With the update to catalina the z2 freezes a few seconds after playback in traktor. also the f1 which is connected through the z2s usb hub is not responsive anymore. USB connection is still valid (it shows up in system audio).

I did. You posted about a hardware issue, which is unrelated to the Traktor beta. NI is also still testing their hardware with Catalina, that's why you should wait to update.

 

Important Note: 10.15 Catalina will terminate the operability of NI legacy hardware as described in this article.

 

It's totally fine to post issues with Traktor hardware related to Catalina. We will see if we can reproduce the issue here. Thank you for your report.

 

Yes, same here, my mistake to update but same issue occurs: kontrol z2 freezes, strange thing is audio is still running with dvs performance, so can control the audio with my dvs turntable, looks like kontrol z2 will need some serious driver updates

 

Did a clean install of Catalina and 3.3.0.45, still only 5 seconds of perfect working Z2, after 5 seconds the Kontrol Z2 freezes.

if there is some beta testing to do with new drivers/software please count me in!

we were able to reproduce the issue and it's now filed internally as HWM-623.
It seems like a bug in macOS 10.15 in handling the HID communication with the Kontrol Z2.

We are investigating for a solution.

Really hope for a fast fix. @ Z2 owners on Catalina: Is it at least possible to use the Z2 as an audio interface and play system audio from it?

edit: Was stuttering the first 5 minutes and finally lost connection. However after a restart its playing system audio now without any problems so far.

I've been experiencing this problem since macOS Catalina PB 4 or 5. I'd thought I'd updated to the public release, but after checking I'm still on the latest beta. I suspect you already know the below information.

From Console app:
Traktor

Computer: MacBook Pro 2016 15"; CPU i7; 16GB RAM; RX 480.
OS: macOS Catalina 10.15 Beta (19A582a).
Traktor: 3.3.3045 Beta (I think that's the right version number).

If there is a dump or log report y'all would like, feel free to let me know.

 

Same problem here.

Running Traktor 2.11.0 under macOS Catalina.

Traktor runs fine, even used a Pioneer XDJ-R1 as MIDI controller on Traktor, but can't get the Z2 to work more than 5 seconds.

moreover, the Z2 is switched to traktor mode (cue points buttons etc enlightened) even when traktor is not in use (traktor program not launched)

 

I have noticed the same. Had a clean Catalina install and the Z2 running system audio. Since i have installed 3.2.1 (my first traktor installation on this system) the lights are always on.

 

Honestly can’t believe this problem is still not solved. It is one of the worst problems regarding Catalina update and still absolutely zero news...

no hate or anything but I’m seriously disappointed.

 

NI said Apple needs to fix this. But their priority will be to fix the general mess they have created with Catalina and iOS 13, i dont expect a fix within the next weeks/months (if it happens at all)

 

i understand...it’s the « if happen at all » that I think is crazy.

 

I feel pretty f p off having bought the z2 mixer with an expectation of getting at least 8 years out of it and now this ****??

Also dont upgrade to traktor 3 as this does not fix the issue.
