    Hi NI,

first of all thanks for the driver infos.

My Kore runs perfect under Logic 5.5.1 wich is a wonder for me. I use a ASUS A8NI-sli Board with a AMD64 x2 processor and it runs good on it.

but the system performance takes 80% by plugin in kore, I hope you will also fix that.

there are also problems by running Virsyn pugins under logic, the programm hangs up If I have installed the vst plugin together with kore. maybe you will contact the virsyn manufacteur about this bug....

Thanks for your time, Kore is a great program when all bugs are fixed, didn´t exept that it runs under logic 5.5

    Welcome :)

I'm not a Logic user, but TERA2, TERA3 and miniTERA run fine inside KORE in my hosts (Sonar and Live, with EnergyXT and Chainer as minihosts).

This is going to sound weird, but I'll bet you have the ReWire versions of the Virsyn plugs also installed. For some unknown reason (maybe because Harry's way of implementing ReWire is a little different), Virsyn plugs will crash your system when the VST version's loaded into KORE if you have the ReWire versions also installed and the host can access them. Try uninstalling your Virsyn plugs and reinstalling, this time skipping the ReWire version.

Harry's aware of the issues with his ReWire implementation- TERA as of TERA3 doesn't have ReWire anymore.

    Kore Sound names not saved

I just loaded the project I was working on yesterday and now all the sounds are displayed on the Kore unit as "Untitled" so now I cannot choose them by name.

OK - here's another one then....

Using Kore as a plugin in a MIDI track (track 1) in Ableton Live 5.02. Set MIDI input to 'All inputs'.
Built a Kore Sound consisting of an FM7 source channel and a Reaktor 5 Source channel (Reaktor is loaded with Carbon 2).
Have created two additional MIDI tracks (tracks 2 & 3) with identical MIDI clips in each.
First of these tracks is routed to 1-Kore/1-Kore, i.e. the FM7. The FM7 on channel 1 plays fine - no problem.
Second of these tracks is routed to 1-Kore/2-Kore i.e. Reaktor Carbon 2. But it will not play! Reaktor on Channel 2 won't respond.
So... swap them around i.e. Reaktor Carbon 2 on Channel 1, FM7 on channel 2 - same thing: FM7 plays, nothing from Reaktor.
Tried different ensembles in Reaktor - same result.
However, switch the Ableton Track to MIDI keyboard input and Reaktor responds (so does FM7) and..
Set MIDI input on Ableton Kore track to an individual Ableton track and Reaktor responds.
Checked all the Input/Output assignments in Ableton - they're fine.
The Reaktor Ensembles being used are those updated by Kore at the time of installation.

    So, NI, what next?

PC running Windows XPSP2, Kore version 1.0.1.001
    Controller serial NIKC6C 1023

And yes.. the rubber feet keep coming off!

This is a great concept, it's already changing the way I think about producing music - but it's very raw. No doubt the software will get refined and bugs ironed out but really... My cat could have come up with better feet and glue!

Kore update disables my Kore plugin under VST/Cubase SE. Plugin disapears or it's unworkable (I can't move any option but the window opens). I have PB G4 1.67 running 10.4.7. CPU use is extremely high also. Beside that, only AU plugins follow my Kore knobs. VST don't. I have never seen such buggy audio release.

    Re: KORE bug list

Sorry - my previous about using Reaktor in Kore within Live hasn't uncovered a bug. You have to specify the MIDI channel required within Reaktor itself, as well as doing the same in the Kore rack!

So.. you drop Kore into its own Live MIDI track and turn monitor to 'in'.
Load your instruments as required into the Kore source channels and set each to a separate MIDI channel
Set up a Live MIDI Track for each of the KORE source channels and set 'MIDI from' to 'No input' for each of these and then Set 'MIDI to' for each track to the KORE Midi track. You can then select the approriate Kore Midi channel in the second 'MIDI to' box in the Live track.
Drop a midi clip into each of these tracks and run them - each MIDI track then plays a separate Kore source channel! (Not forgetting to set the channel in Reaktor too if you're using it within Kore!

Phew - easier to do than describe really.

But the rubber feet still keep coming off!

There seems to be a problem typing in searches in cubase. The keyboard shortcuts in cubase cut in automatically over the top of Kore. For instance if you type C into your Kore search, the Clicker in Cubase switches on.

Hope a fix can be done for this, don't really want to entertain the thought of changing all the cubase shortcuts!

    -- Nuendo Crash/Freeze
Kore froze on me while loaded as a plug-in in Nuendo. Probably cause I closed the plug-in. I tried “Safely remove hardware” (to bring it out of freeze mode). A pop-up said it’s been safely removed but Kore was still all lit up and locked.
Tried restarting my computer and it took 3 times the usual time to boot up. Kore restarted but the on the right hand side of its LCD was a bar-like clutter of pixels (right next to when it says “KORE” once controller is started).
Tried “Safely Remove Hardware” again and Kore still wouldn’t budge.
Left with no choice but to pull out USB cable.

    -- V-Station crash.
    Kore crashed while loading V-Station.

    -- Unlit Channel button
Certain channel buttons that DO HAVE parameters assigned to them do not light up (Even after switching chann off and on).

    Re: KORE bug list

    hi there...

i encountered a very strange midi (interface) bug in cubase sx3.

when i want to record a midi track whithin cubase sx3, all played notes "jump" to the beginning of the midi track after key-release.

this is only happening when i use the kore midi interface. when i use the interface of my ews88mt soundcard everthing works fine (as it ever did).

i tried to deactivate the ews88mt in the xp control panel, no success.

has anyone ever heard of something similar? thanks for your help...

    Re: KORE bug list

Huge CPU increase using Kore as a Non-Audio controller.

I have a Creamware Scope card which I use as the Audio outs/audio interface in Kore. I have the Korg Kontrol 49 plugged into a USB port on the computer - this is selected as MIDI IN on the Kore software.

Run a Reaktor patch standalone - no probs. Run it in Kore and the CPU shoots up ( and they are both set at the same audio rate and number of voices)

I think the USB driver is probably the cause - I have had no problem with my Korg and the Oxygen 8 before that - but the Kore seems to be problematic. I basically can't use it - only for simple patches (multi instruments patches won't load -- CPU overloads!!!

eg FM4 8 voices on 1 patch standalone Reaktor 5 (after removing Kore from USB) - 20/25% CPU - with Kore loaded in the software 60-75% - CPU meter goimg everywhere and crackles.

I can't really use Kore 'till they fix these serious bugs :(

    Re: KORE bug list

I have been experimenting using Kore as an audio controller. Everything seemed ok - not as many features as either my Steinberg vsl 2020 or RME Hammer but workable and easy to take on the road while I'm doing pre-production for an upcoming feature film. I normally use a few different mixers and boards but only brought my Mackie and Kore this trip. So I plug in my headphones to Kore and no sound. OK so I go into windows Volume control Properties and change from NI Kore Line Out to NI Kore Phones. Click apply and OK and - still no sound...Go back into Volume Control Properties and low and behold - NI Kore Line Out is listed as output. HMMM So I try it again and everytime after selecting NI Kore Phones I save then go back into Volume Control Properties and it is set back to NI Kore Line Out. Gave up and ran Kore output to Mackie and everything ok. Seems like audio out of computer should be present at Phones as well as the Line Out. Oh also I can set the outputs in Cubase SX3 to Kore Phones and it works fine. Whats up with that???

Bug??? or Feature??? or ID10T error???

    Regards,

    Craig

    Re: KORE bug list

Eric, the problem with this is that I'm unable to send a Midi track to an effects insert in Sonar. I can arm and record automation on this insert...but no midi tracks to trigger the notes. I just posted in the Pro-53 forum with this same problem (using Pro53 as an fx but needing to send a midi track to it), lol, so I must be near to being the most retarded sequencer operator on the planet, as you gave some too brief instructions on how to do it that didn't work for me. And no, I can't find any side-chaining information in the manuals :( I remember seeing an article about this along time ago in Computer Music Mag, but I'm sure I threw that issue away. I'm using Sonar 5 Producer edition.

BTW, I just downloaded a bunch of your art and am using it for my wallpaper now, so thanks! And I've listened to some of your tracks and will listen to some more.

I appreciate the time and effort you put into helping us in the forums, Eric, thanks.

    Re: KORE bug list

OK... you still want to be using the instrument version; all you're doing is inserting it into the FX bin instead of letting the synth rack insert it. When you right click on the bin to insert a effect, you'll find all of your synths listed as well.

After you've inserted it, create a new MIDI track. KORE will be one of the output choices.

For your Pro-53 FX question, run the wrapper (Cakewalk's VST Adapter) again and when the list comes up, click on Pro-53 FX and click on the properties button. Check the box that says configure as DXi synth, and finish the scan. Now, you'll be able to run a MIDI track to it.

Thanks for the kind words :)

    My Bug List

    UPDATED:

    Hello-

I just purchased KORE. I purchased KORE maily for "Live Performance" - to be able to quickly load a performance and be ready to play the next gig song. I love the entire concept behind KORE, but there is still alot of issues to be fixed. Here are just a few of my main bug issues using it in "Stand-Alone":

    1) UVI Engine plugins don't come close to matching the latency & audio quality peformance of NI plugins. This becomes a sync issue with NI plugins as well. (These work fine in Logic)
    2) "Stuck Notes" frequently & mainly using UVI plugins.
    3) Saving Issues: I would like to see KORE "Load" all files the same way we last saved them - both "Visually" and "Settings".
    4) I now have be able to get my controller pedal (assigned as a volume pedal) to work with NI plugins only, but not 3rd Party plugins. Is this not possible yet? If not, please add this feature in the next rev, its a must.

My setup: P4, 2.8 Ghz, 2 Gig Ram, Dedicated HD, Delta 66, Midiman USB 4x4, Hammond XK2 (using as contoller) & Roland Piano (using as a contoller) & MAudio Controller Pedal. I currently use "Logic's Environment" to setup all my performances and works great (latency & audio) other than its just not quick to load files and not designed to do what KORE is meant to do. I am really hoping that NI will fix these issues & release the next version soon so I can start using it!

That's weird- I can set the KORE phones as my default playback device here...

Go to Control panel/Sounds and Audio Devices and set the KORE phones as your default device- it should work then.

Can´t rename User Pages in Plug in Mode.

When I try to rename the user Pages while Kore is running in PlugIn Mode, only a few letters work, because the others are still corresponding with the host.
