I also have this erratic behaviour. And my system really seemed to struggle at times automating Kore. It's like it's fighting with all these different midi parameters. I'm on a Macbook 2.4 duo, 4 gig ram, Ableton Live 8 and Snow Leopard.

    Just something addtional:
Tried to use the Kore 2 Controller as midi controller for Traktor Pro (e.g. for the FX section). It's the same here. When handling the knobs/poti the corresponding knobs on Traktor jump around... unusable this way... :-(

Same here with Kore 1 hardware and Software. That's why i didn't upgraded to KORE2.
I think this is some china-manifacturing hardware issue for certain number of products...
Or this caused by the dust... But i use it in my home studio never gigged with it...
Anyway now i'll ask the support for a new one...

    Editor?

Have you guys checked with the controller editor, or the midi output of the kore controller in midi mode to see if there are any errant messages being sent due to the sensitivity issues? Granted, kore itself might be erratic and send out via the global out, but if you close kore software and just use the controller editor, or just midi out in midi mode, is anything sent whatesoever you didn't intend?

    Thanks,

    jonathan adams leonard

Are you all having any luck with your problems in this thread in 2.1.1?

In my case the zipper zapper is occuring not always, but, hmm, "occasionally". So it can't be a hardware problem in my case. Usually I try ew's advice (page 1, reboot with Kore unplugged). 2.1.1 is installed, no changes here.

i have quite the same problem:

i use the latest kore and the kore 2 controller on a win xp sp 2, intel quad core.

the hardware controller knobs seem to be activated randomly when i touch or move knobs, making the red ring jump to knobs that i did not touch. yet, while i am for example turning knob 1 and the red ring jumps to knob 2, i am still changing the value of knob 1, even though knob 2 is selected and shown in the software. so for me its not a serious issue because i can use the hardware despite this bug.

i am just surprised too that this behaviour was not detected when testing. my contorller always behaved this way (i own kore for a few months now), and i tried almost every sensitivity setting.

as long as the wrongly selected knobs do not send data i am not alarmed.

The funny thing is that the Kore 2 controller doesn't behave like this when using it as a midi controller. That's why I believe that there is a problem with the Kore 2 software. I really wish they would look into this.

I would like to chime in as somebody who's seen this problem quite often.

It seems even worse now. When using the knobs to control the morphing square, it's so jumpy and sometimes just doesn't go where you're telling it to. Also, to make it even better, sometimes I go into the morph control mode with the controller and then can't get back to the regular macro control mode. In fact yesterday I was using it and the buttons stopped responding altogether. It was also very crashy and unstable in ableton live when using the Kore 1 controller.

Thanks, this is a very helpful post that escaped me for weeks :). In my case closing Kore2.1.1 software and using the controller editor in, say, Orion, as midi cc, I still get the zipper zapper. For example the volume of track 5 moves like it was suddenly mad, added by other knobs I move later, 3 zipper zappers in a row^^.

The weirdness makes it sometimes hard to change knobs (it lights them randomly; and say I want to go from knob 8 to 5, Kore often doesn't react but awaits action at knob 8...).

In Zynewave podium where I got the Kore weirdness at least the automation gets recorded without it.
So NI should, after so long a time, now look into this, this is a bug that a lot of users get...
But at least recording is possible, I thought about stop using Kore2 altogether by now. A bit of an expensive toy for such a weirdness, no matter if you hardware touch sensitivity to 0, 1, 45 or 100%...

Concerning playback - if Kore2.1.1 with the virtual zipperlein randomly chooses, say, pitch, you hear the actual changes. So for playing back I usually unplug Kore2. Things work of course then. Still, it starts to get on my nerves now, and there should be some solution by now.

    Thanks jonathan anyway!
    ---
....just to add this - same scenario, same hosts, same everything - 5 minutes later things work without the kore zipperlein. So at least I here have a random machine ;-))).

    a possible solution now :))

    Hi guys,

there might be - at least you all could try - a simple solution. I switched the USB cable, and whereas this was at first just a "well, test that too anyway" - number 3 at least for now solved the problem.... Kore 2.1.1. works like expected now!

Reaper reports a constant bip bip bip sending of midi from Kore, and maybe some usb cables are just not good enough (including the stock one in my case, hmmm....does that make sense^^).
A friend suggested I could even try those portable HDD cables with 2 connectors on the PC side...not a possibility here because my laptop has not enough usb connectors (most stuff needs them directly, for example Kore and soundcards do not work with some usb hub).

So well, I hope at least for me and maybe a few of you the problem might be gone now after trying a usb cable or two ;-))).

(In fact I am besides myself now, it's nearly 38° in my attic flat in Germany and at least I can make music with Kore^^)
