I guess all the Kore2 64bit users have given up on NI delivering 64bit drivers for the Kore2 controller this year. My controller has been sitting in the box for the last 8 months. What an investment. I suppose alot could happen in 16 days.

Mine sits here on the desk ... with a thick layer of dust on top!

Is 64bit really such a failure? should we all downgrade to 32bit again?

There are so many reasons to go 64bit - and other companies have already supported this move by delivering 64bit drivers. I didn't have to leave one single bit of equipment behind when I upgraded my OS - with the exception of KORE. Granted, I still run a 32bit version of my sequencer on the 64bit OS, but all hardware drivers I need have been ported to 64bit.

I really do not understand why NI keeps us waiting for such a long time. If it weren't for the great instruments they deliver, I would have abandoned them by now.

Just to show you how absurd the situation is: I am controlling the KORE software with the Novation Remote ZeroSL (which, of course, has 64bit drivers). The KORE hardware is collecting dust.

    How dumb is that?

Of course I was kidding! 64bit is the way to go! Its the logical progression since demand for RAM becomes more and more. And it's been around for about 10 years already if I'm not mistaken. The more it wonders me how slow developers react to provide 64bit support. Not only NI but also some others.

What happens for those of us who upgraded from kore 1 to kore 2 and still use the kore 1 hardware? Will our drivers be updated to 64bit too? I sure as hell hope so!

ew - could you PLEASE give us a status update? It's so annoying to read since more than a year that the driver is under development.

    dont wait too long

at this rate it may well be that windows 7 will release and further complicate the issue. While it will definately be a 64 bit os , who knows just yet how they will change the sound subsystem and api , such as how they did from windows xp to vista. Here is to hoping that the drivers are indeed not to far off.

Well I just took the plunge and ordered Kore 2 controller/software package as it's cheaper than buying the software version alone and buying the controller later . I'm on Vista 64 so the controller will have to remain in the box until the drivers arrive .

They've started testing; I don't know who I passed on to QC got in. I could find out, but I probably won't hear anything until after the first of the year.

I decided not to buy from NI anymore until the driver is released. That's about the only signal I can send that they might hear...

This was a sad Christmas! Last year on 24. I've bought my Kore 2 and this year I couldn't use it at all around this time! *sob*

    it was bound to happen

There it sat. Like it had for sometime. The hope and promise of something more. Just sitting, lonely, cold and silent. Closer I look, but something has changed. A single sad event has left it worse and ironically it will never be the same. In the great move it was marred forever. It only dropped about 2 feet. But in plastic and aluminum terms this must have felt like an endless free fall. It landed just right, perfectly to dislodge one of the rotary encoders from its position. Sad it never saw the light of day. Never had its moment in the spotlight to shine.

Of course I am talking about my Kontroller that came with Kore 2. Never used, dropped in a studio move and broke one of the encoders. That really sucks. Here is to GETTING the 64bit drivers this year and avoiding the premature death to other controllers that went too soon and didnt get used.

    Waaaahhh! *snif*
