Like everyone else in this thread I am eagerly waiting for 64-bit Kore drivers and wouldn't mind working with Beta ones. I tried modifying the 32 bit drivers and got Vista 64 to start installing them. But the installation cancels by Vista telling me that these drivers are for another platform. I also noticed that "_X64" driver extensions are already part of the old INF files.

So what makes this take so long? Kontakt 3.5 64-bit was already announced, EW said something about GR 64-bit and I'd like to use Sonar 8 64-bit. At the moment the Kore controller is the only hardware device I cannot use on Vista 64.

And since the Kore software does not support multithreading (pardon me?) and thus makes me use two instances I really prefer having access to the full 4 GB ram in Vista 64 compared to only 3 GB in Vista 32 (with 4GB installed).

Apart from that the current drivers for both Windows and OS X compromise Windows' MME and OS X' CoreMidi subsystem when using the Kore controller as a MIDI interface and thus negatively affect the performance of all other attached MIDI devices (they are not alone in doing so, but the issues can be solved on driver level as shown by other manufacturers). If NI (!) needs further informations, feel free to contact me.

i hope they are using 32 bit

I hope that Adrian Belew, Teddy Riley, Jordan Rudess and DJ Skribble are using 32 bit systems as that would create a mess and embarrassment.

BTW, does NI develop 64bit drivers for the Kore 1 Audio Interface as well?

As I recall the 64bit driver was promised nearly a year ago and like everyone else here my Kore 2 controller is unused and gathering dust. What a company! I own licensed copies of all NIs products and am sick of waiting for this driver. By this point in time I would expect 64-bit versions of all NI products. Wake up NI!

I'm not one to normally make noise like this but man this is a little over the top.

If there are problems developing the driver then all we can do is wait. But guy, at least keep us informed of the progress? I mean, would it hurt to keep people posted on the progress?

The Kore has become just a novelty in our studio. It's highly unstable as it is in 32 bit OS and we never use it on the road. Now with what we're getting out of Omnisphere, I can imagine soon we'll say goodbye to all of our NI products for future productions with Reaktor being the only exception.

I'll swing by the NI booth at NAMM in a few days, and likely, will bark at some of the guys there!

Be ready for me, i'll be the pissed off guy dragging a dead Kore behind him.

I just discovered that I can't use my Kore 2 controller on my new PC which has Vista 64 bit on it! I'm really disappointed. NI needs to get this driver out ASAP.

Please, do it as well for me. NI can keep their new products until I get a 64bit driver for an expensive piece of hardware I bought more than a year ago and that is rendered useless due to the lack of drivers.

You alienated a loyal customer who has bought nearly all of your products, NI!

I'm kinda hoping that the appearance of a 64-bit driver for GR is a good sign. At least it means the developers have finally opened the "64-bit drivers for Dummies" book :D

I emailed NI and got this response:

    Hello Michael Coelho,

We don't have any info on when these drivers will be available. NI has been
releasing 64 bit drivers in the past few weeks, so I imagine they will be
    coming soon.

I'm glad you all didn't forget about us whilst creating all of that other stuff.

I would like to say that all is forgiven, but I can't. The development time and just general lack of information on its status was handled poorly.

On the good side I am now able to remove the thick coating of dust that has accumulated on my Kore 2 controller since last year. I have installed the drivers on my 64bit Vista PC and it looks good thus far.

    Wooot - finally.

Is it for Kore 1, too?

Fantastic news! I feel the pain of those who have waited so long for this driver, but this really worked out well for me since I just got my Vista 64 bit machine recently and tried installing the Kore 2 controller for the first time three nights ago. Better late than never! I kind of wish that I had ordered my new PC with XP instead of Vista, but I don't want to go through the hassle of re-installing all the software again, plus NI has maxed out my re-installs, so I'd have to contact them to install all my NI software again. I waited much longer for M-Audio to get the firewire OSX Leopard driver out, so NI isn't the only company with driver issues.

    Yes.

I don't think so, that system was changed a while back and you should be able to do an additional install without any problems.
