Now that I am x64 I selfishly echo the sentiments that I want it

Seems odd to me that they would not considering NI is one of the leading x64 companies. Hopefully that is part of the holdup!

If the world of software development worked to your silly and lax requirements, there would be no lights on in your house, there would be no manufacturing, there would be no internet. Zen out all you want but the practice of software development is a mature 40 year old discipline that can be adopted and followed by any company that gets their marketing department in check. Look at Ableton. Way more solid that NI and still they are halting new development to commit 100% to making everything work as it should. AND, most importantly, they are being upfront and transparent to their users: frequent communication, lots and lots of open beta testing, etc. NI needs to get on the stick.

It's not just Komplete 6 that is not working with Kore but also things like compilation packs don't work properly anymore in Kore after upgrading to Komplete 6.

I did get on my soapbox in another thread but it does seem to be a broken design where every kore sound has path and plugin information hard coded into them. As a software developer (not in the music space) I would have said anyone heard of software development 101 at NI? Meta data like library paths, plugin types/paths could be kept in an external file (e.g. xml or txt) - this way we could edit the file(s) without the need to wait for upgrades. Okay, that may a little simple, I'm sure there are many complexities in Kore but it does seem to be overly complex, inflexible, and fragile (breaks at the very thought of an instrument upgrade)

    ;-)

NI, please honor your statement re: the beta. Have some integrity.

Software development estimates are not 100% reliable. Let's cut Thomas some slack here. I'm no NI fanboy, but NI's been very good about communication lately. We should appreciate that. I'm sure it'll be quite soon; and, if its not, I'm sure Thomas will let us know. :)

They can take all the time they like (hey I'm gonna live forever) but I'd really love to get a statement from them about their intentions for x64. If I knew it was coming in Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, next year, year after, 2020 or never then I could at least plan my strategy accordingly.

Come NI, simple question. I'm man enough for any answer you give, but please give one. I won't hold you to any strict timescales, I just need to know whether Kore is my future.

    Pretty Please.

Listen. They broke the footswitches in 2.1. Why not just fix that? Why does it have to be all or nothing wait for ever.

Don't say they can take all the time they want. They have to do better.

I hope people are seeing this stuff before they buy. I know I looked before I lept and everything seemed cool. And then 2.1 broke the footswitches. And then Komplete. And then the Kore packs. I would never have bought if this was what was going on. Their customer communication is beyond awful.

Yeah, that's bad. I didn't know footswitches broke with 2.1.

No, I'm a dev; I know what its like to make bad estimates. :)

So would I. My guess is they're working on something big, and they feel it would somehow not be advantageous for them to tell us. Not that they shouldn't tell us though.

I maybe missing something here but surely you have the option to downgrade to a version that doesn't have the broken footswitch.

Also with regards to the Komplete 6 integration in Kore, it's a pain, nothing more. It just means that you need to get your hands dirty in order to get it working. not the end of the world. I mean we are talking about cutting edge technology here, not a TV that you get out of a box, switch on and watch.

The x64 limitation is undermining my entire strategy, I have a PC stuffed with memory that I can't exploit. What a waste.

NI are WAY too quiet about what they're working on and every so often poor EW gets it in the neck from someone who hasn't bothered to try and work out who they're speaking to. It's not right.

I'm also a dev and I know how important it is to keep your users/customers informed as to what's going on. When you do that and things do go wrong, the users are far more forgiving because they feel that they are part of the process.

Bottom line is "communicate consistantly". When Thomas told us about the beta test there was a sense of expectation, the time came and went, now there is a sense of disappointment and confusion. There should have been another statement giving a status update, even if all it said was "it's delayed, I'll give you another update next week".

    I'll shut up now

I actually have many things to say that I'm not going to say

2 and 1 half months for beta may or may not be a long time depending or many factors. And yes, let's hope the footswitches are getting fixed in the "various fixes" dept :)

I'm starting to loose hope about x64 though :(

I think that they are trying to debug the Guitar Rig 4.08 engine first - then they will release the KORE beta. Supposedly they had the GR 4.08 'ready to go' but people were making noise about issues that had not been addressed.

Since KORE uses the GR engine they more then likely have to get it (GR) running properly first...

I see. They have indeed been in beta for a while on GR and there has seemed to be some issues in that area. Makes sense I guess.
