Awesome thankyou so much, this has made my day. Only question I have is why doesn't this affect Kore in El Cap too as SIP is still running but it's working fine for me?
If you had installed Kore before El Capitan chances are good that a clean El Capitan install had left it untouched (otherwise users had heavily squawked because many of their old apps would have gone to hell). Sierra hasn't changed that behaviour but iirc is a bit more rigid with additional installations under admin rights. The only thing i experience now (but don't remember exactly if that was also an issue before sierra): making changes to the controller hardware setup (like knob sensivity, contrast, backlight etc.) won't be saved in the settings That might be a result of an active SIP.
Yeah I have had Kore installed since Mountain Lion and always installed OS updates over that with no problem, maybe the same would be true with Sierra then anyway and the problems only arise with reinstalls of the drivers?
Yeah, maybe. I had reactivated an old iMac with sierra and then tried to make a fresh install of Kore - which in fact runs on my main system (a MacMini) since Yosemite without any problems, even with sierra. But i also had deactivated SIP on this MacMini since El Capitan due to other problems, just had forgotten to think about it when installing the Kore controller on my iMac.
Hi guys, I just tried to install Kore 2 on fresh Sierra install and I get an error message "Couldn't install Kore 2, the minimum system requirements is OS X 10.4" What the hell now... Anyone aware of some workaround that doesn't involve reinstalling El Capitan just for Kore? Cheers, appreciate it!
It's the main installer for the whole package which won't work with sierra. Just right-click the installer, choose "Show content", open the "Content" folder, then the "Mac OS" (or "Ressources") folder, then start the Kore-related pkg-installers or just install them all, step by step.
Good to read! If you have some other older installs to do (Kore expansions etc.), this should do the trick also, but not 100% for sure. Some .pkg-files are just too old to get them up und running. But try it and you'll know it
No problem installing some stuff, but I have a problem Ableton not recognising Kore in the vast folder... I can confirm that Kore is the latest 64 bit version as is Ableton. Strange since Komplete Kontrol recognised the plugin and I can run Kore in Komplete and vice versa, but not in Ableton, any ideas?
That's strange, indeed. I don't have that issue with my Ableton Live Lite (my main Live version uses the old install on my other mac which never had been re-installed). Can you use the AU version? Another check: if you delete the Kore VST plugin from the plugin folder in your library, run Live one time to recognize the changes (assuming that your Live makes an automatic plugin check on startup), then place Kore VST in that folder again and restart Live - can you see that Live scans the Kore VST plug (in the splash screen or in the status row down on the main window, if you run the check manually after restart)?
Ok, that is a result of an activated SIP. When i deactivate SIP again, my controller uses the saved settings now.
Agh, unfortunately I've got the same problem here - Live 9 (up to date ) recognise neither AU nor VST version of Kore 2 I downloaded from NI site today. I installed it the same way you described here ( all pkg's from the 'Content' folder ) and after I've tried the "tricks" you mentioned to open it in Live with no success. Standalone versions works fine, but... Maybe there's something we can do about it?! UPDATE!!!: After 4 hours of sophisticated sex with different versions of Kore2, Service Center (you need to download SC2 from NI site to have the possibility to download latest Kore 2.1.4 64bit version ) and taking out Library from the pkg files now everything is WORKING (software) FINE UNDER SIERRA. I haven't tried the controller yet, but I don't need it much since I've got a Push to control Kore in Ableton. I also wrote a kind letter to NI and asked them to support Kore software at least till they will come with something to replace it. Not sure if it will change anything, but...
Well... after complete uninstall of Kore 2, Controller Editor, Driver (deleting all the files related to Kore 2 manually from Libray, App Support etc... folders ), disabling SIP, installing all latest drivers and Kore 2.1.4 (excluding controller editor, you need 1.7.4 to use it with Kore 2, not the latest one ), I can proof that > NOW EVERYTHING WORKS 100% UNDER SIERRA! Kore 2 plugin, Kore 2 controller, Controller Editor to program Kore for usage with other software... In Ableton, Standalone, in Logic... And you can easily enable SIP after that again (look how to do it in earlier replies on the 1st page of the topic ). Kore 2 is still amazing, solid controller and fantastic piece of software (if you have a few add-on libraries and make multi-layer sounds with if you know what I mean > NOW THE LAST THING! NI, PLEASE CONTINUE SUPPORTING IT IN THE FUTURE, IT IS VERY KOOL THING! OR BETTER - MAKE KORE 3
Hello everybody, I upgraded today from 10.11.6 to 10.12.3 and i had seriously any problems running Kore 2 after the update. I had not to delete any drivers or reinstall kore 2. But i can remember that i already once installed drivers and kore 2.1.4 fresh. So probably thats why. I had not issues with SIP. Probably, it's wort to mention that i have a hackintosh. Best Regards and everybody a lovely sunday evening Samuel
A little Update - everything is ok but had to disable SIP again and keep it disabled, otherwise, after some time Kore stop functioning. I've got another annoying issue - after computer restarts, Kore's display settings do not recall automatically, and for some reason, my Kore's display lighting bloody red without anything seeing on it, so each time I have to decrease contrast to 0%. Any ideas how to fix this?
hey! just scanning through all this as i just got a new computer with sierra on it... no luck with kore 2 even recognizing as a AU/VST in Live or Logic i uninstalled kore, disabled sip, edited the package so that version check is off, installed, ran the standalone, and STILL nothing there. Do you happen to know if i'm missing something here? just like mentioned here the standalone is fine, but DAWs just don't recognize it. Any ideas? Thanks!
Hi, After reading this thread I've disabled SIP and my Kore 1 controller is back working again. Only odd thing I have is that I have to reconnect the USB cable after the startup to get it to power-up. Thank you to all those that have posted solutions. Matt
I guess we kore 2 owners don't deserve support from NI. But as a community you guys are dope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
