I'm with you on Guitar Rig 3...

Regarding Kontakt, however - would it be necessary now that NI has released the Kontakt Library/Factory Content update?

I do not own Kontakt 3, so I unfortunately can not do this.
As I am keyboarder and no guitarrist, I have not installed GR4 yet. Is it the same procedure (open GR KSDs and save them in GR4) to make them available for Kore 2 ? If Yes, I of course could modify my program to do it.

Absolutely. The update they released doesn't contain any user pages. Therefore, the knobs have no logical mappings.

Not sure. I'll have to check...

I can't help but think that if NI allows it and we pull together, we could create a nice version of all of the K6 factory KSDs in one neat and tidy bundle. All people would have to do is replace their factory folder with that if they so choose. Again, only if NI blesses...
    ---
Oh, and GR is incredibly useful as an effect even if you're not a guitarist.
    ---
I just tried importing a GR3 sound into GR4. It didn't seem to work.
    ---
Actually, it seems you can import GR3 banks into GR4. I'm guessing that's all we need.
    ---
So, I'm thinking about this some more, and I wonder if it actually worth it to do this for Kore. Is it the case that even though you now have usable KSDs they do not have the mappings of the old ones? I would think so, because it seems you're using Absynth to save the new KSDs, and I don't see necessarily how that would keep the user pages of the old Kore KSDs. Maybe I'm missing something though.

Seriously? I need to finally install Komplete 6 and see if it's even worth keeping... Shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops to achieve the promised functionality plastered all over the box/site.

I'd like to add myself to the list of people that are seriously annoyed by NI's behavior.

    +1 from me.

I would like to resave all Kontakt Sounds to open with Kontakt 4!

Is it possible to programm it the way that I could list a path to the program that should open the ksds? This way I could choose the one I want to use on myself.

Could you please do a programm for Saving the KSDs of Kontakt2 and Kontakt3 for Kontakt4? (Open .nki and save as .ksd within Kore?) :)

Well, my tool does not start the program itself (it has to be started manually), it only looks for an executing program with a specified windows title. Therefore I could program a textbox, where one can insert the desired title string.

Well, I am a quite experienced software developer but an absolute beginner with Kore and Komplete. I will have to check the exact way how to do it, maybe I can implement it in another version. I will report here later...

I'll be tackling this next week. Kore 2 is already installed and I am about to install Komplete 6 full, no previous versions of any component.

The AHK compiled script is cool (can you post or pm the actual script for modification in AHK?) and is definitely the kind of community support we need right now.

I'll see what I can figure out so we can solve this problem for the majority in a reasonable period of time.

Sorry for the late reply. Well, it is not that easy. Since most of Kore 2's functions are only available using its buttons, and since their positions (which AHK needs to be able to press them) change, when You change panel layout, I am afraid, that I can write it for my own, because I can check and modify the position coordinates by myself, but it would be too complicated for non-programmers. Maybe I can find another way to handle it.

    Of course, here we go....

I finally got around to do some updating Yesterday. And now I have all my Kontakt 4 instruments available in Kore 2. But why do the buttons have meaningless labels like #1 #2 #3 etc. Below this there is an instrument in Kontakt and the buttons ought to reflect the what is available in Kontakt like volume, reverb etc. Sometimes you can find some of these labels several pages down in Kore 2 ... but not all and not on the front page.

Yes, unfortunately this behaviour exists, because NI did not provide the corresponding user pages for the K4 instruments yet. See also Entry # 4 in this thread

So I don't mean to come across as lazy/hateful here, but I really don't have time to read through 7 pages (or however many other threads exist on the subject) to find a solution that should already be readily and clearly available. So far all I can tell is that a bunch of people are upset that there doesn't seem to be one.

Can we get a sticky or something that clearly and specifically addresses the official and proper way to get K6 sounds into Kore 2? (And by that, I mean, the actual solution from NI, not a workaround).

I managed to get it working by installing Kontakt 4 Factory Content Setup PC.exe
    I think its in updates.

What would be a great thing is a N.I database tool.
I had some paths that were wrong.

I was forced to uninstall, reboot reinstall reboot. Scan and update, reboot, kore uninstall, reboot, check file paths, update, reboot.

Much to much work, a Database tool is required or its going to frighten people off.
Some standalone tool that clearly prints out all the paths and addresses the regestry in windows.

The solution is coming in the kore 2.1.1 update.

It just plain does not work at the moment. The easiest solution is to wait until it's ready. Otherwise, you can try the various workarounds posted.

I must have missed that announcement. Where was that information posted? I saw that they were planning an update, but didn't see what it would fix.

Your not looking very hard. It's a sticky in this forum called "Official update status".
