    Hi all
    1st up I own Kore 2 & 23 sound packs , Maschine , Komplete 5 + 6
Access Virus TI Desktop , Roland VG-99, Gibson Dark Fire etc etc etc
I've just updated from imac leopard 10.5.8 to snow leopard 10.6.4 & have all latest updates for all products.
    Mostly everything works fine.

    Ok here is my query….In Kore 2 can't play anything from……Pro 53 , B4II , Akoustik & Elektrik Pianos.
All .ksd files are all where they were, when all was working fine on 10.5.8
That (?) mark shows up when in standalone. But when in Logic 9 no (?) mark…..but still no sound.
I know I can play the 2 Pianos in Kontakt 4.
I thought NI stopped support for these 4 items & that they aren't compatible with snow leopard.

But my IT music guy said these should still be able to work in Kore 2…..

Q…….Do these still work in Kore 2 ?
    Q…….How do I get them recognised ? As I've tried everything !
Q…….If these don't work do I delete these .ksd files

All bits have been deleted from 4 above items stated except……ksd files & any sample content for these.

Also since latest Kore 2 update none of my 23 sound packs show up in Soundpack column (They did before)
Now have to go the long way around via Path / Factory Sounds / etc. (This is silly & inconvenient)

Sorry if silly Questions but at a lose here & have searched this forum !

Thank you & cheers to ya :D

    Welcome =)

Akoustik and Elektrik definitely won't work- the .ksd refers to the plugin. However, as far as I know, B4II and Pro-53 should. You do have the VST versions installed, I presume- Kore uses the VST versions of NI plugins. And, you also ran them all as standalones, I hope- you need to.

If they still don't work- yeah, you can delete the .ksds from the Application Support/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds folder. Do that before you take the step below:

If your soundpacks are missing, go to:
    User/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Kore 2

Trash koredb. koredbLock and SoundPacks.cache. Reboot your system and start up Kore as a standalone. The database should automatically rebuild; if not, do a full scan from options/database. Close Kore when it's finished rebuilding and reboot your system. Done.

That is not correct. Make sure you install everything and open it before you install or run kore for the first time.

Everything except B$ and PRO 53 was found and loaded.

First words on this forum are "That is not correct"!

When compounded by the fact that it is aimed at one of our most knowledgeable members, that really has to be a record for early entry irritation.

    And not a little rude.

You got it backwards. Kore2 loads the sounds from Akoustic and Elektric Piano just fine but kompletely ignores the sounds from B4 and Pro-53.

I have seen other posts where users say they have loaded the Pro-53 sounds but my system won't.

The NI installers put sounds in all types of wacky places on my computer including my library>application support>native instruments folder (I'm on a Mac). Make sure to manually add a path to that folder in Kore 2 preferences as well as your NI apps folder and your documents folder and any other folders where you have installed NI sounds or ksds.

Then make sure to open and run every app individually making sure to check it's library path in the preferences.

Next without opening kore download the kore sounds updater and run it, it will update all your other NI stuff so Kore will see it.

Last open Kore and run a full scan. Should pick up most everything.

If that doesn't work you may have a permissions problem with your system.

    Hi
Sorry for my 1st initial post in wrong spot….oooopps :S
Ok I reinstalled the 4 apps & vst , components etc not the libraries , from original Komplete 5 disc .
Didn't do Komplete 6 update or go to service centre for updates !
    Should I have ?
Opened each 1, as always , in standalone , B4II would say missing tone wheel , please reinstall B4II…to no avail !
    Well that one's no good on my system iMac 10.6.2 / 2.4Ghz / 4Gb

    Other 3 would open in standalone…But couldn't play, as I expected !

All my NI product .ksd files except G/Rig 4 are in the same place….
Mac HD / Lib / App Sup / NI / Shared Content / Sounds
So there should be no redirecting to find these !

When I proceeded to open Kore 2 , struggled to find these components etc , then got ( Kore 2 not responding in activity monitor )
Kept trying to no avail…..So have come to conclusion that none of these will work in Kore 2 on my system.

Might try again this time opening service centre…….Oh well

Thanks ew I'll try soundpack missing problem later , leaving that till last.
Had seen that answer before here somewhere but didn't now if same problem as I had.

parkay909 are you on snow leopard 10.6.2 ? & why run the Kore sounds update ?
Every thing else works fine !
    No permission problems !

    Thanks cheers to ya :D

AP and EP might load- true. However, you'll crash when you change the room in AP or load certain patches from EP. And, you shouldn't need to set the path to Library/Application Support separately.

I was having the same probes you were. I deleted and reinstalled everything then ran the kore sound update and after a full rescan it picked up all my complete 5 & 6 sounds.

    I'm on osx 10.6.xxx w/pro toolsHD. 8-core 2.something w/8 gigs o ram.
    ---
I think the kore updater patches the other Komplete sounds so kore can load them properly.

BINGO Got It working ! :)

    Special thanks to........ew & parkay909

Yep started with Komplete 5 reinstall of the 4 items & all updates for these
no need for Komplete 6 update , it had none of above !

Did all in service centre !
Successfully opened all in standalone , re-did Kore 2 Library update.
Opened Kore 2 (standalone) & in preferences / data base had to add in the 2 Pianos.
Closed & re-opened Kore 2 & did re-scan of all sounds (Data Base) etc
All sounds to all these instruments now working just fine in Kore 2.

So a big thanks guys all working very nicely ! :D
I thought that these where not compatible with my new Snow Leopard Update.
But must have lost contact in the process of update etc when I went to Snow Leopard.....Strange !
So had to do a re-instal.....

Many Thanks Again & Cheers To Ya :)

    Hi all

    Just an up-date on this….COMPLETLY SOLVED :D

Akoustik Piano NOT working , Well it dose but can crash easily , thats using in Kore 2 in standalone.
    Also crashes even worse inside Logic 9 on imac 10.6.2 / 2.4Ghz / 4GB
Noticed this is the only one that has no parameters showing up on Kore 2 buttons etc.
Can play this in Kontakt 4 & don't like crashes......So time to delete !

So have deleted all (Akoustik Piano) except Sample Libraries , so as it can still be played in Kontakt 4

Now CAN GET all those previous (?) mark Kore sounds etc for B4II ,
Pro 53 & Elektrik Piano & are now ALL working inside Kore 2
    Running on above setup !

For anyone missing their Kore Soundpacks…..This is a excellent fix….

    Quoted from……ew
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your soundpacks are missing, go to:
    User/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Kore 2

    Trash koredb. koredbLock and SoundPacks.cache.
Reboot your system and start up Kore as a standalone.
The database should automatically rebuild; if not, do a full scan from options/database.
Close Kore when it's finished rebuilding and reboot your system. Done….ew
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
******With this great advice you'll never lose sight of your soundpacks******

Completely fixed up my 23 SoundPacks / Library Etc

Thanks again & hope this helps others as well !
