Sorry if this has been posted but I looked through this forum and didn't find an exact answer to my question. I recently purchased the Kore 1 controller with software and Kore 2 software upgrade from an eBay music store and everything is in its original box and with serial numbers. Everything installed correctly except for the Kore 2 software. The NI activation site said that the serial was already registered. I contacted the eBay music store and they had no clue about NI serial numbers and I contacted NI support a week ago with no answer yet about the situation. ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sadly, NI doesn't read this forum and I don't know how much they're willing to support Kore.

Valid, unregistered serials, should work in Service Center.

If Service Center says the upgrade serial is already in use, send a screenshot to that Ebay music store, they made a mistake and should find you another Kore 2 serial. If they don't, you should get part of your money back. Keep that Kore 1 controller, looks better and feels better than the Kore 2 controller :)

    "Discontinued" means "no support".

Thanks for the reply. Just a couple of more questions.

-Is it possible for me (or NI) to get in contact with the original owner by using the serial number provided in the box?
-is there a way for me to get unregistered Kore 2 software since it's discontinued?

    Thanks again.

I don't think NI will bother the person whose account is linked to your serial, let alone give you his/her contact info.

There are however people who sell their serial on the second hand market. It's possible for them to send NI an email and get the serial removed from their account. They can then sell the serial to someone else. You can use the installer you have, all you need is some numbers.
