I have just managed to install Kore 2 on Big Sur - not sure how stable it will be yet, at the moment I have been running the plugin scanner and already had a couple of crashes. Unfortunately 2/3 of sound packs won't install because NI used the defunct InstallerVise installer to package them - however I do have the installs backed up on a cloned drive (from Mohave) so will see if just copying over the files to the correct locations is sufficient. Kore is not activated yet either so that's the next step after plugin scanning completes (which is taking a while)

Took a bit of work but got Kore 2 activated using Native Access - I had to copy over 2 plist and an xml file to the preferences and service centre folders but after that Native Access activated it using my Kore 2 serial

OK last step completed. I copied over all my Kore libraries from the backup drive, including the necessary plist and xml files and was able to activate them all apart from one in Native Access. The only one that won't activate is Absynth Spectral Expansion which keeps saying 'demo' even though I have entered and registered the serial in NA and it actually states the correct serial in the info tab - however that doesn't seem to affect being able to use it! Many needed relocating in NA but I was able to do this except for FM8 Transient Attacks which keeps saying 'invalid library path' even when I keep entering the correct path to the FM8 sounds. Again this doesn't affect its operation though.

It's really awesome to hear Kore 2 still works on macOS. However, I do think Big Sur is probably the last one where it's gonna work on. Monterrey is a different story altogether (unless you virtual machine Windows or something).

I figured out where to relocate it to now anyway - so now all are in the correct locations. Unfortunately I'm having problems with all the Kontakt based sound packs as Kontakt is naff at relocating stuff - they constantly ask where the samples are kept. I can't see a way round this, I have tried putting them in what appears to be the default location and it still doesn't work. Fact is I am lucky I have got it working this far and mainly intend to use Kore for the morphing and ability to create new multi sound patches, not the old sound packs, they are just a bonus. What is working well though are the Deep series, which is one of the sound banks series I was missing the most. Also I had created Kore versions of all my favourite Massive banks (including everything by Leap into the Void) with additional morph targets for every preset and begun to do the same for several other plugins - notably Aalto which is crazy fun to morph.

tbh I thought the same about Big Sur due to the significant changes under the hood, such as elimination of anything 32 bit (ok which began with Catalina) - afaik Monterey is an evolution of Big Sur but not as significantly different (I hope).

Wanted to chime in before this forum sunsets.

Have been looking for fellow long-term Kore enthusiasts. Gratitude for sharing your experiences. This thread is such a trip, and to observe it updated yesterday, wowza!

I upgraded to macOS Monterey not too long ago, and my Kore installation STILL WORKS (I'm so surprised). There are truly a variety of gems in there that aren't replicated outside of this, like the Jeremiah Savage classix. I didn't do a new install (and haven't in ages), and the current config is itself migrated from a 2008 Mac Pro ➜ 2013 Mac Pro ➜ 2019 Mac Pro. I harbor some Kore has weathered these storms. VIVA LA KORE!!!

Good to see you all. Have a delightfully creative 2022.

I think it should be clarified that whilst the software side may work on recent Mac OS versions (probably with some fiddling around), the Kore hardware drivers are 32bit and therefore the hardware will never work on Catalina or newer OSes. (Unless I'm mistaken (too scared to check myself!))
